Hi Ray, I did figure that would be the case. Hopefully it will have enough thrust to get off the ground in the length of our 33 m runway! The instructions suggest that it should.

@RCJim just let her build plenty of speed before pulling back on that stick, generally everybody who is use to props over jets gets caught up in full power is full power.. not the case with jets, there is no prop wash to make the surfaces alive, so patience is your best option. If your questionable on runway, you can buy 3/16" surgical tubing and make a simple sling shot launcher and place the hook near the front gear mount. You'll just be getting it up to speed faster with like 3 lbs of pull, nothing crazy like my 3 meter sailplanes.

@@RAYROTHSTEIN66 An interesting launch idea! After all, it is a carrier aircraft. Unfortunately, the turf at the end of the runway is slightly higher than the pavement. A plane tends to either lose the nose gear or suddenly get launched when they hit that!

@RCJim just do a little research on jet bungie launch set ups. All your trying to achieve is about 10~15 mph assistance when you step on a pedal to go. I'd say about 15' of surgical tubing that's not that strong and stretched out double to 20~30' total with a release pedal you step on.

For our field I also will need to set up another radio with a launch release device! Our runway is quite a ways from the pilot's box - or whatever that is called. Alternately I might have one of the other guys release it, then bring back the launch gear. That's probably a better idea.

You were right! I managed to dig them out of the bin, which was sitting out at the curb waiting for collection. I imagine I looked like some homeless person looking for cans in the recycle bin! Anyhow, they were not damaged, and the plane is now proudly Blue Angel #3! Thank you so very much!

Thanks. I'm still working on the courage factor. Our flying field has a very short runway, and I'm thinking that the little wheels would take a beating on the grass. I have been advised not to fly it without stabilization, so I've just installed a Spektrum AR630. One day soon we will give it a go!

@@RCJim be waiting here paitently!! Also, what transmitter do you have? I have the dx6e and the ar630, but how do I activate stabilization on it?

I'm working on a video to show you how right now. I'll have to check whether the DX6e has forward programming in it. I'm thinking it might not, so that will require a major 'work around.' So, I'm afraid you are in for a little more of patient waiting! Sorry about that.

Unfortunately with that combination, you need to get a friend with a radio that has forward programming to set it up for you. After that you can fly it with your DX6 radio. NX radios have forward programming, as do Radiomaster and some other Edge/OpenTX radios. I was hoping to be able to do it with the Programming Cable that I just bought (along with associated software), but it can only do the programming with the older receivers, such as the AR636.
