Just because they are home-built/designed doesn't make them any more dangerous than any other device of this type you can buy. The lobby, which makes an incredible amount of money from such devices, is trying to convince citizens that these self-made devices are dangerous!

Дровокол, где клин на валу вращается реально внушал ужос. Второе место отдал бы дровоколу, где барабан резал стволики поперек. Третье место обоим гидравлическим и где приспособа для резки бензопилой. Ну, остальные еще более менее. На реечном тоже надо внимательным быть, но там хоть процесс управляем...

Вот там показан диск с поступательно конусной заточкой, и тот дровосек с чурбаном три метра, его же как ветер портянку перебросит сила энерции если то полено захватит не на резку а провернет вокруг оси и он попадает вот в тот нож резак,, фарш если рядом никого не будет чтобы выключить это,, изобретение на него страшно смотреть а не работать, мозгов нет, конструкцию создавать надо для своей же безопасности, а то лишь бы крутило и рубало а как, да как на мясо комбинате туши разделывают подходит конструкция,

Это справедливо для многих станков вообще-то. А так-то, тут больше вопрос в эффективности работы со сложными поленьями. Понятно, что эти механизмы сильно облегчают труд в любом случае, но такую древесину без сучков и задоринок и топориком рубать не особо тяжело.

When I was in high school in the 60s we had a big saw rig with an old one lunger engine that was started by pulling a big wide belt. I used to run it myself cutting mostly white and red oak and also maple. It worked great.
