The lyrics of this song are a poem written by Friedrich Emil Rittershaus (1834 - 1897) during the Romantic era. It was published under the name "Meeresfantasie" (Sea Fantasy) in the anthology "Die Träume der Toten" (The Dreams of the Dead). freikorps is chaotic and militaristic while toten erwachen is sad and calm. There is no such thing as better than another, so long as you enjoy it, when it comes to music.

It`s kind of weird to name this song "folk". It`s clearly not "folk", due to the fact that we know author, and I am not even sure that it was ever sung before 2022.
