Freight Trains in Western Washington 2023

Күн бұрынWestern Washington State is a great place to watch a variety of different freight trains in action. Just in the first few months of the new year, I was able to film a number of freight trains around Puget Sound in between Olympia and Bellingham. This video features a collection of trains I filmed in 2023 thus far, mostly focusing on BNSF. Types of trains included are grain, coal, and mixed freight manifest traffic.

I wish Canadian Passenger rail could be as good as Amtrak ... even with its challenges and the issue lies squarely with the Canadian Government. VIA Rail is doing a great job with what they are dealt .!!

I recently moved to the Bellingham area and my my, I swear that I hear like several trains a day. I forgot how busy the Bellingham subdivision is. I remember when living in this area as a child, I would hear the sound of freight trains in the middle of night. Trains are so loud, you would think they're right there because of the horns.

@@AndrewIsAwesome882Not necessarily. Sometimes BNSF or Union Pacific will borrow a Norfolk Southern locomotive to continue shipping products once it goes through Chicago.

I don't believe it's too common, and it was weird to see the NS power tied to some UP engines on BNSF tracks north of Seattle. Great video!

Sometimes BNSF or Union Pacific will barrow a Norfolk Southern locomotive to continue shipping products once it passes through Chicago. The same can be said for the other way around.
