French Broad River Smallmouth Kayak Bass Fishing! (BEST DAY YET)

In today's video, I will be floating the French Broad river for smallmouth bass! Fishing the French Broad river for smallmouth bass is one of the best things to do around Asheville North Carolina! The French broad river kayaking scene is a big community and friendly toward kayakers. There are many launching locations for kayaks on the french broad river bent creek river park being the most popular. River kayak fishing especially river bass fishing is one of my favorite things to do. River smallmouth bass fishing is something that you should try if you have not already. Smallmouth bass fishing is one of my favorite hobbies to do in the warmer months, especially on the french broad river. French Broad river fishing for bass is well known in the area to have giant river smallmouth and can be very rewarding especially if you're persistent. The french broad river flows through Asheville NC and has some good early spring bass fishing. The French Broad River in North Carolina has an excellent population of smallmouth bass in the river and is some of the best sections of the french broad river smallmouth fishing. The french broad river is best when fished around and has some excellent fishing opportunities. Smallmouth river fishing is very rewarding compared to lakes because it seems like the smallmouth bass fight harder. Cast and reel with right hand? SMs are more brown up on that end of the river, they are green like a largemouth down here near Douglas lake. Nice looking fish up there.

Yeah it’s a habit that I picked up from floating the rivers and honestly one I need to break. I’ve heard there’s some great smallmouth fishing over there but I’ve only done the holston and little pigeon over in Tennessee. I do have plans to come over there more once I get a motor on my river kayak. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it!

Thank you I really appricaite you watching and subscribing! I do my own shuttle but I know there's places willing to do it too. If you are on Facebook, there's a group on there called WNC Smallmouth Club. Many people meet up and run shuttle together on there

I really try to watch your vids. But all I can focus on is how many times you swap that spinning rig from your left hand to your right hand. Just wondering is there a reason for not reeling with your left hand ?

I use my right hand to paddle when I’m floating the river and that’s why I always switch my rod to the left hand. I hardly ever paddle with my left hand. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it!

What part of the river are you fishing? I’ve been hitting near hot springs nc

I mainly fish near Asheville but I’ve heard the hot springs section has some giants! I think there’s some dangerous rapids somewhere down near there but I can’t remember for sure. You can look up the different sections of the French Broad online and it’ll go more in depth and what you need to watch out for. I’ve not had a lot of luck between hot springs and weavers bend but I’d love to hear about some successful tactics. Putting in below douglas dam in Sevierville and taking out at Smoky Mountain Knife Works bridge has always yielded great results for me. Shallow running crank baits in crawfish and bluegill pattern work best. Great video.
