It’s quite *coincidental* that as soon as the news was spoken about the *death of Vince* that it started pouring down rain outside my house... We all know *Vince* is in a better place now... Thank you Scott and everybody that helped Vince as much as they possibly could, even though the condition wasn’t able to be cured...

I was doing OK till he said "unable to go to the toilet with dignity," for some reason... the way he phrased that, the genuine care and kindness in his voice and body language... he is the kind of vet ALL animals deserve. When they first showed the little Frenchie in the park, it was clear he was hurting when he walked. Every time they called him their little man, my heart ached for them. So SO much love in both of his humans. I cannot imagine how much it sucked for Scott to have to deliver that news. He's a good dude, that adorkable Australian fellow.

Very sad! Made me tear up! I can't imagine the hurt! And the little man was so sweet but he looked defeated. The couple made the right decision Euthanizing little Vince. They had a loving 6 months with him, and I'm sure he felt loved. I had to euthanize my dog almost 2 years ago, and it's the hardest, and one if the most painful decisions you have to make. Love Dr Scott, and the team! They are all so caring! It really shows through- their love for animals with their desire to help both humans and pets. I'm studying to become a Vet Tech and i would like to follow this philosophy. You do it because you care and you love animals. And you want to help their owners. As a dog parent, we love these magnificent Angels, here on earth. They are pure and love us unconditionally...I love this show! Guys keep up the Amazing work!!

I sure hope Vince parents will be going to the breeder they got him from and sue them... I can't imagine any puppies suffering from this so sad this should have been caught early 😢and never sold . This is the breeders responsibility to take care of this dog an this family and take care of the bills and reimbursement . I believe no puppies should leave till they are fully vacinated includes rabies and bordatella vaccine and as well as health check from the breeder veterinarian with a health certificate before they even leave their home.

@@carriegemin5226 I think this was something that wasn't apparent when Vince was a small puppy. It just developed, and no vaccine would have prevented it. We don't know how old Vince was when they got him. Maybe he did have all of his puppy jabs and all clear by the breeder's vet. I used to breed Sphynx cats, and all kittens were fully vaccinated and vet checked before they left me. I even had the prospective owners have their own vet examine the kitten and give their all clear before the sale was final. No kitten ever was sold before the age of 12 weeks. (Jan Griffiths).

Vince's story really touched home with me because I have facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSH). I suspected he had a muscle disease when they did the EMG and was certain when they said how high his CK level was. My heart breaks for Corinna and Gaz. I was diagnosed almost 47 years ago and have seen dozens of doctors and I can honestly say not one has cared as much about my case as Scott did for Vince, Corinna and Gaz. He's not only an amazing vet, he's also an incredible human. I laughed at how red Scott's face got when he came in last place while showing Reece's ewe.

@Kirmeins

@@SevCaswell you're just speculating... might've been anything from an accident to a deliberate long-snouted-Frenchie breed. Plus, with genetic diseases like this where a parent would obviously only be a carrier (as it would've died long before breeding age otherwise) it can happen in any responsible breed line as well. It's not like there are symptons in carriers! It could be passed on for generations upon generations until you're unlucky and the boy you picked is also a carrier - and even then there is only a 50x50 => 25% chance that the puppy has the condition, a 50% chance that it ends up as a carrier itself and a 25% chance that it is genetically perfect - for each puppy of the litter seperatly mind you. Which means you'll be dependant on the new owners to report back that the puppy has this rare genetic disease. So while I agree that there is a chance Vince originated from a puppy mill I doubt it's anywhere as big as you make it out to be!

One thing that is guaranteed with Bondi Vet, regardless of if it's in Australia, the UK, or the US, is that whoever is in charge of sound mixing is still learning...
@Kirmeins
@Kirmeins 3 жыл бұрын
Rather whoever is in charge of rendering and uploading the video still has a lot to learn! The sound problems are due to the way YT deals with video files - what sounds great on television will sound completly different after it's uploaded. You'll have to re-render and possibly even re-work the video prior to uploading it or you'll get this result. Considering this problem is rather common for television shows I get the feeling that there is a lack of time/funding for this job. I mean, not a lot to earn from YT ads so there is no real point in investing hours of additional work for 40 min video when you really want them to watch the original show on their channel where they'll have a much higher income from ads...

@@Kirmeins I've been editing videos for both TV and youtube for years now and it's pretty confusing how this has never been fixed at first but you're right, there might not be enough funds or manpower to render everything again for youtube. It's confusing for me though since I've never had similar issues like this. Some of my works were both aired on TV and exported directly from the library to be uploaded in youtube but there isn't any issues with sound mixing. Might be how the editor mixes the audio or it's the difference in procedures because I don't live in any of the countries op has mentioned but for people like me who can only watch this show on youtube, I hope they could find a way to properly resolve this :/

Vince reminds me of my little mini schnauzer pup. She was born as a runt and wasnt thriving whatsoever, and couldnt keep her weight up. Annie was eventually passing out and having seizures, and she was hypoglycemic. They eventually diagnosed her with a bad liver, and we couldnt even get her fixed because they were so worried she wouldnt wake up. We were told schnauzers with this condition very very rarely see even close to one year. She passed in February of this year. 2 years and 4 months. And she never left that puppy stage, and her last day, allbeit rough from the outside, she seemed calm in her last moments with us. We knew it would happen, but the fact she made it so far with us, we gave her the best life she could have had. We were given the option to put her down, but even the vet agreed she had 95% good days, even inbetween the vomiting spells, the drowsy spells, all that. Her last 2 days were the worst she experienced. Everything else was as perfect as it could be. Her "sister" shih Tzu Gabbie was tortured by Her pulling on Her ears, and pulling Her tail. But even with all that, she definitely got depressed with Her loss as well. We have all recovered well, and have annies picture over our fireplace. Her parents owner (family friend) offered a full refund and a new puppy, and she is letting the father know. She keeps track of her own pups, but the father was a new one. The owner is keeping him from breeding now and contracting all previous pup owners. But i know vinces owners did practically the exact same thing we did. Taking care of him up until the very end, giving him all the love in the world that they could squeeze into that painfully short time. We all have our companions on borrowed time, and we never know when it will end. Thank you for helping them get through it, and understand they didnt have long.

This one even looks like he was bred a little more responsibly, with the longer muzzle, but either this illness was unforeseen or his parents weren't tested for it? Idk, very sad either way

@@109367 yeah... it’s really horrible that some breeders don’t do genetic testing. They know of the consequences, yes they still breed them, and just take out the obvious “defective” puppies by putting them down.

@@ringtailarts4834 Idk, further research seems to indicate that isn't a common affliction of this breed, Scott even said it's very rare and he's never seen it before. So if it's not a common illness the breeders, if they did health check, likely did not test for such a rare condition. For all we know he was bred very ethically. Tragic either way and just bad luck, hopefully the breeder replaces the puppy, I know it won't be the same, but still.

I couldn't watch the sadness of Vince even though his mom & dad obviously love him deeply. I had to say goodbye to my own baby, less than a year ago. I would tell his family that in a lifetime of doing wonderful things for him, giving him your love all of his short ❤ ♥ 💙 💜 little life ❤ was an absolute treasure to him. How wonderful all he did know was love, comfort, and safety with you. He knew you loved him, madly & deeply.

Vince's case is probably the saddest I've heard in Bondi. To be diagnosed with something genetic, incurable, and violent is probably the absolute *worst* case scenario for any animal. I don't know which is worse: Cancer or Muscular Dystrophy.

@@tildeboo1448 the condition is bad need to genetic test those parents and switch them out. But its either theyre going for a mix breed or theyre trying to breed a longer snout which would really benefit the breed. If they do it right and test regularly in order to ensure that you dont start spiraling down into defects after defects.

I agree with you! Even tho he was adorable! His ears were way too big for the breed. I wonder if any inbreeding was in his DNA. If so, those breeders are corrupt!( If they breed them intentionally knowing the defect) Taking advantage of people, making them fall in love with their dog and than putting them through that grief! Felt so sad for the couple! They loved Vince, his pictures were all over the house.

The more a breed is made popular the more opportunity there is for backyard breeders to get away with breeding dogs like that. I breed STANDARD shih tzu and sadly in my breed all I see is idiots breeding tiny dogs for size or for ridiculous colours that aren’t typically in the breed. I breed to improve and preserve the CORRECT traits in my breed and I wish to god others would do the same sadly ypu get breeders saying they love the breed yet breed against their standard of corse health is the number one thing we consider in breeding or SHOULD be clearly not in this little puppies breeders case 😔

As soon as I seen little Vince it was obvious he was underweight but his diagnosis was just heartbreaking and just by looking at his eyes he seemed like he'd had enough. I've never heard of a dog having that b4! But then seeing 14yr old Bella make it through life saving surgery n was energetic and playful just reminds me every dog n all animals their cases are different just like people. I did bawl when they said Vince passed away though.

The story about puppy Vince broke my heart. So very sad for his parent's, such a hatd thing to handle. He was loved so much and he felt your love and he returned that love. They have to try to hold on to thst. ❤ I hope that eventually they were able to move past their grief and give all their love to another animal who needed them. It's so hard to lose a pet, they are part of your family, often your child, as much as a loved companion and friend. Even if they live a full, healthy life, we really only have them for a short time (depending on the species of pet). So it's really hard to lose them because we fall in love with them straight away, so whether it's days, months, or if your very lucky, years, it's never easy to say goodbye.
