Join my FB page! 😊 profile.php?id=61552753760751 The French Mustang Club organized its 29th Mustang Day on April 2, 2022, at the Dijon-Prenois circuit. This was a full-mustang day, with Ford Mustangs and muscle models (Galaxie, GT 40, AC Cobra, Cougar). There were also a few exhibitor's stands on automobile/America/Mustang themes and food stands for the lunch.
I decided to bring my camera with me and I filmed along with my visit. It was snowing and crazy cold this whole day, so I'm sorry if the camera is shaking.

Bonjour Marie! Really kewl stuff! 5:35 Michigan plates, yay! Here in the Detroit, Michigan area, every 3rd Saturday in August we have the Woodward Dream Cruise where hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world bring their classic cars, old muscle cars, new muscle cars, show cars, and so on and park or drive (Cruise) along Woodward Avenue (the road was established in 1805 and later became the first paved roadway in the U.S.) You would love it! One year, Ford Motor Company had one Mustang from every year they've been made parked in a lot adjacent to Woodward. ~Be Blessed

I’m in the US, in the south- Georgia, and during Spring and summer, you can find car shows just about every weekend where people in “car clubs” meet somewhere public to display their cars that they restored themselves… all kinds of muscle cars from all decades, 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s… and sometimes more modern. I think you would love it.

Marie, I know this is one of your older videos but after watching your American Tour so far and one older one of you washing your car I now understand your appreciation and love of the Ford Mustang. This one just popped up on KZfaq for me. My first car when I was 16 was a used 1967 Mustang Coupe like at 4:25 on this video only baby blue. I miss it to this day. My dream car would be a 1973 Mustang Mach One Gold on black. Today they are worth more than my house. We can still dream.

What started out as a cute little runabout for the young and single, with the quick addition of some serious horsepower, made the Mustang the poster boy for American muscle cars. The late models really go for that idea, while some of the earliest (and often most valuable) still had a bit of a sports car look, if not feel. Those were, and still are, my faves.

Bonjour Marie! At 5:24 it appears to be a 1978 or 1979 Lincoln Continental with two-toned paint. In 1978 for its 75th anniversay Ford made 2 Diamond Jubilee edition cars. One was a Ford Thunderbird, and the other was a Lincoln Mark V Continental, both were special limited edition solid paint colors, (blue or gold,) not two-toned though. Ford Motor had 3 main car lines then: Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury. My Dad and his father had worked for General Motors (GM) which is a rival to Ford, but my Mom really wanted that special Thunderbird, so she got one, and her best friend got the Continental. If you notice the odd, small window on the back part of the side of the Continental, it's called the "Opera Window," for the Diamond Jubilee Edition it was bullet proof glass and the dot over the i in Diamond was a lab made diamond. The Thunderbird didn't have that. Interesting that someone brought a Lincoln Continental to a Mustang rally. ~Be Blessed

That was so much fun! My best friend in high school was allowed to drive his family's white Mustang to take me and him to school every day, so this really brought back so many memories to me, and thank you!! There were so many there, and I saw the Texas license plate too 😊. It is interesting that you can drive with that license plate for up to one year before getting a French license plate, and that is exactly what you are allowed to do here in Texas, if you drive a car from another state here when you move. Oh my, you all looked so cold outside there, but it seems like it was a good time for you two!

The original mustang was a less expensive car for regular people to buy a 'sports car'. They were super popular with teenagers. They were called ponie cars (small young horse). But by the time of the fastback they had become an American icon.

Awesome video Marie! Sorry the weather wasn't better for you & your Mom but great that you stayed as long as you did! I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of America's Muscle cars. My favorite was the older Mach II style (I think the Black & Gold one in the video was an example). A movie from a couple years ago that you may be interested in is Ford V Ferrari which tells the story of Ford Motor Company and Carroll Shelby - who had quite a bit to do with some of those Mustang models, entering into the famous Le Mans France auto race. Great video Marie! Go warm up! 🐺 :0)

There's a gathering of classic cars every month in my town, _and_ another monthly gathering at a 1950's Hot Rod themed Whataburger. You see all kinds of cars, from 1920's Fords to modern supercars. They're all there just to see each other's cars and eat some burgers or have a barbeque. And it's not uncommon for the local Corvette Owner's Club to have 50 or 60 cars snaking through town on the weekend.

I really enjoyed that video. I'm a life-long Mustang fan (I had two of them when I was younger). It looks like you got to see a large number of different years and styles of Mustang (plus a Ford Torino and a Lincoln luxury car). The only era of Mustang that I didn't see there was the "Fox Body" cars of the 1980s and 90s. Also there was a short lived car called the Mustang II.

My only Mustang was a white 74 Mustang II with a blue interior. It served me well for 5 years, but it was both one of the least powerful and least aesthetic Mustangs ever made. I doubt that any collector would own one.

I've been to a few major meets in the USA. Every year the Friday after thanksgiving, kicks off the 'Turkey Run' at the Daytona track in Florida. The year I went had over 5000 cars of every year and style. To be honest, Mustangs, Camaros and Vettes were everywhere. Didn't want to 'waste' time on them. There were so many unique cars, custom cars, trucks, etc. I was drawn to them and worn out by the end of the day. Ever thought about visiting 24 hours of LeMans?

I love mustangs. My ex wife had a 73 mustang and she worked at a parts plant where they made small parts for many of these cars. And my dad had a 69 mustang when it was new. Sadly I've never had one though :( I used to live in Dearborn Michigan when at the time the Ford Rouge plant used to be the mustang plant(makes F-150's now) in which I could see from my upstairs apartment. Mustang imho IS the number one muscle car. My dream car btw is the 68 cobra.

Fords are the easiest car to fix or even change parts on. Every part no matter what is a ford standard part so you can interchange anything on it. No changing sizes no nothing just one size. And it’s almost the same plan everywhere. Anything after market is just added as needed but they fit any ford car. Even changing the engine is easy with a couple of bolts and screws, you lift up the engine drop in a new one and screw it back together simple. You can even get a new transmission without much hassle either. They are designed for performance and don’t quit as they just work. Even the old model t is still running to this day. It’s insane something that old still runs like brand new.

I noticed that every time a car would roar it's engine your camera went in search of the source of the noise. Did the deep rumble give you goosebumps? Did you prefer the older cars or the newer cars? Now we need to find Marie a Mustang of her own. P.S. for one of the best movie car chases, watch the movie 'Bullitt' starring Steve McQueen. He chases another car through the hilly streets of San Francisco in his 1968 Mustang Bullitt GT. Steve did his own stunt driving

@@FrenchTasticExplorations I totally agree, that is why I never owned a Mustang newer than 1968. My favorite years were 1964 1/2 (the very first year) - 1968, with my favorite car being a 1966 convertible. Living in a warm climate allowed me to drive it almost year around.

My cousin had one of those 1979 Indy 500 Pace Car versions. My Boy Scout leader did as well. This was back in the 1980s. Ford produced several of those '79 pace car replicas for civilian ownership. Don't know how many were made, but they were not all that rare. I, myself, had an '89 Foxbody. Awful car, to be honest. So many technical and mechanical issues...all the way from the smallest electronic switch problems to major engine and transmission problems.

Brings back memories for me. I was on a double-date with a co-worker with 2 French au pairs back in 1988 or so. We went to a bar on the Haight in San Francisco. On the TV was a video of classic American cars driving in a parade. One of the au pairs said her favorite car of all time was the famous American car was the - “mew-STAHWUNH!” “The what?” I asked. “The m-STAWHN!” She said. I had never heard of such a famous American car. I asked her about 2 more times to repeat it, and finally had to ask her to spell it. “M. U. S. T. A. N. G.” She said. “Oh! You mean the must-TANG!” To which she gave me one of those delightful wordless French gestures that said “But of course, you win and I lose, and now you’re dismissed!” The other au pair become my girlfriend for the year she was there (I had it good once). She’d give me those wordless French gestures from time-to-time. My favorite was the “what am I to make of this from you?” gesture which was to smile upside down, shrug her shoulders while raising her hands and turning to look to the left. She was from southern France, so there may be a bit of Italian in that gesture. She had a Swiss au pair friend who told me her favorite discovery in the US was the divine “mew-FAUHN!” Oh God - the what? After the second attempt I knew to ask her to spell it. “M. U. F. F. I. N.” Oh! The muffin? They don’t have muffins in France or Switzerland? Where did we get those from, then? It’s a baked bread (not a pastry), which has to come from France or Germany or Italy, no?
