Welcome to the english language, where "You are shit" and "You ain't shit" are both insults, "You are not shit" is a reassurance, "You are not the shit" is an insult and finally "You are the shit" is a compliment.

nothing The "You ain't shit" and "you are not shit" thing being opposite is funny because the word "ain't" is slang for "am not; are not; is not." ((Ain't originally came from an't/a'n't, which was first written down in literature in William Congreve's 1695 play titles Love for Love, if my research is correct.))

What are you talking about ? We only have 23 different conjugating tenses, three verb groups with the last only consisting in irregular verbs, a different termination for each pronoun, and last but not least the past participle is accorded with the "have" auxiliary only if the direct object complement is located before the verbal base. It doesn't seem this difficult to me :D (and that's only for the conjugating part)

In France your 1st language is that one you learn after your native language (if that makes sense). Ex: My dad was born in france and spoke fluent french. He learned English then German in school. He says his first language is English and 2nd is german but an English person would say his first language was French, 2nd was English and 3rd was German.

The focus one is like in Irish. The word for "word" in Gaeilge is "focal" which I don't need to explain what it sounds like 😂

Yeah I still can't say rural and I've been speaking English my whole life. Italian is my second language and I also have trouble with words that have the double r. And that letter is even harder in Italian because you have to roll them haha.

French is extremely hard!!!! I was done with this language at "la robe noir" construction. I was feeling so awkward trying to read something from "War and Peace" by Lev Tolstoy, because he's put A LOT of French sentences in his legendary book.
