France Gall performs 'Teenie Weenie Boppie' on an episode of 'Le petit dimanche illustré', originally broadcast on October 22, 1967. She's joined by Serge Gainsbourg (who wrote the song), Mireille Darc and Haydée Politoff. Afterwards, Gainsbourg and Gall are interviewed about the song.

Could someone translate the brief interview at the end of the song please?

He confirms first if the song talks about LSD. Then asks France what she means to say with the song, that she seems to be a very nice girl and if she doesn't find the song too daring. She answers that, on the contrary, it is a moral song, because it ends well. At that point all laugh, and Gainsbourg retorts, that the girl (in the song) dies at the end.

Jean-Pierre Straub ... « L’important dans une chanson, c’est ce que l’autre entend », disait Graeme Allwright. Une façon de dire que la voix porte un message. Si vous entendez des dissonances, quoi de plus normal dans une chanson qui exprime le vertige et la détresse d’un monde psychédélique. Ne vous attendez-pas à entendre du _bel canto _!

@@Becky9301 Moui... Il y a tout de même un juste milieu entre chanter faux et la Callas. Je crois surtout qu'à l'époque, France Gall n'était tout simplement pas complètement mûre (en tant que chanteuse et que femme; ce qui est normal à cet age)

@@jean-pierrestraub7530 C’est une question de saveur, on peut aimer les fruits confits ou, à l’opposé, ceux qui, avant maturité, ont encore ce petit goût acidulé qui fait cligner les yeux. Dans le même registre, la jeune et espiègle France Gall proposera quelques mois plus tard à son public l’ étonnant « Rue de L’Abricot »...

France Gall était très attachante, et elle avait de super textes, mais n'a jamais été une grande chanteuse (niveau performance). C'est pas grave, elle n'a jamais prétendu a ça.
