It’s the laughing after. That exasperated, crazy laugh that just feels so real. I don’t think that was planned either, I think she was just so I’m character, or channeled an actual memory so real that she really was just that broken in the moment that she laughed, and it’s such a relatable and real moment, all while immersed in such beautiful singing as well. By far my favorite part of this performance, and it wraps everything up in a bow and ships it to my top performances list of all time

@@Tytytytyty1776 If you feel awkward it isn't her problem: just because muricans think that's a shame or "awkward" to have those emotions, don't listen! She's italian by her mom's side. I'm from south Europe, too, we tend to be romantic so we like to sing our heart out; if you don't like, don't listen, but a singer, specialy a non-american singer, won't sing this or that way, just to please american culture. I bet you didn't bother to read the lyrics because it's too difficult to pay attention to 2 things at the same time. What I find really interesting is that those fake boobs shalow american singers with all the fireworks, stupid dances and lypcinc are way more intense (fake intensity) and you complain about a singer who is real?!

Every language is able to convey it. It’s just most singers these days want to make k-pop (no hate on k-pop) instead of actually reaching deep into their souls. Majority of French singers convey those emotions better then others earning French the title of the language of love/emotion.

OK look. I'm just going to say it. This is the single greatest live singing performance of all time. I've watched 50 versions of this and reactions and even a little kid (WTF?) singing it on The Voice Kids. Every singer on earth should see the commitment and the willingness to surgically and brutally destroy herself on stage... and with a technique and mastery, I have never witnessed combined together in one performance. Never had I ever watched an artist perform this way before I came upon Lara Fabian. The way she completely surrenders to the emotional state of the song is out of this world. She feels the pain of every verb, the anguish of every noun and even the hurt in every adverb. That a singer has a great voice, technique and stage presence is awesome already, but this woman is on a whole other level. Whenever I watch this or her rendition of "Perdere L'amore" and "Broken Vow" I get ripped to shreds, just as she is as you can clearly see her recollecting herself after baring her soul on stage. Lara Fabian is such a rare artist and her multilingual talent is so raw that she has the unique power of impacting people with her voice. I love you, Lara ❤️ And I'm proud to say we share the same birth day.

Greatest Performance Of All Time ! No way anyone will be able to topple this . The emotional delivery becoming the song is on a level that should be taught in every school for young artists and singers. Discovered Lara Fabian in 2024 and have been completely taken by her while picking up french language in the process as a bonus . The list of her hits is mind-boggling : Je Suis Malade, Adagio, Caruso even her latest hit Ta Penne just keeps on going ...

She is singing... everyone else is only trying. She is the only one using every levels of her talent to channel every spectrum of a song right into your soul. No need to show off about her power or technique, she has nothing to prove. So she is just genuinely living the song and it's meaning. Yes for all of that; she is an angel.

That’s how you sing a song. You live the lyrics. Lara is a master at this. Singers watch and learn. It’s not all about screaming out notes that you can barely reach trying impress. It’s obnoxious to the melody and the words. Lara Fabian has it all. She sings like it’s about her. Just a beautiful performance.

@Paul Newman, IT IS about HER. As many have attested, she was really depressed, sick, and even borderline suicidal at that time. The song WAS her. She can still sing this song today but it will be different. This particular performance is the apex of all her other renditions because it was her reality and life at the time. Didn’t you feel that? I did.

Most singers get up on stage and sing a song then they leave the stage. And you'll forget about it the next morning. Lara, as usual, but especially in this, has lived a lifetime with this performance. The weight and emotion in her performance can't be faked. She isn't merely reciting the lyrics, she's lived it. You can feel every inch, every centimeter of each note she breathes. Beautiful, awesome performance. She is the rare singer that I would say can go head to head with Ms. Dion. And quite honestly, I don't know who's better. Celine's technique and power is unquestioned. Her ability to take any song and make it a million times better just by her vocal abilities is what makes her a true legend. Lara's emotions, however, is next level. NEXT LEVEL. She doesn't give a damn about how she looks or projects herself, she's not even there on stage anymore. She's living the song far far away. Every heartbreak, every heartache is right there. Few singers are willing to be that emotionally naked on stage, and it's an incredible gift that we're able to witness such a raw performance from a singer like Lara everytime she performs. Honestly, I don't even think Celine is willing to go there sometime. If ever. Lara Fabian is next level, man. She is a true artist, if there's ever one. The world isnt ready for her. It doesn't know how to deal with a true talent like this.

This lady here is something else, a category by herself. Vocals and breath control ? Superb. Emotions ? Spot on always. Beauty and stage presence? Above and beyond. But that's not the whole story about her, nah, not even close. This magnificent lady, writes lyrics and performs in 9 different languages, plus she composed some songs as well like "Adagio"... and other. Here she is in her prime at around 1999 to 2002 and normally you would expect her by now to sound a bit "tired", perhaps a bit off shape but no, not Lara, she opens her mouth and her voice gives you goosebumps in seconds, still powerful, ever more experienced now, she didn't grow older, she matured like fine wine. Only respect and admirations comes to my mind when i talk about her.

I saw Lara in Nice. The stage was very much like the onel in the videos. I speak French and at the end of the song I was so in tears that I could not see. A friend shook me and said look as she pointed to Lara. Lara was looking at me and also in tears. She motioned me to her, held me ever so tight and whispered Je t'aime. In my quivering voice I said Je t'aime aussi. That moment inspired my writing of this poem. I wish that someday she may read. The Next Time You Go by J.T. Skipper Phillips When you go away the days pass so slow, The lines on my face how quickly they grow. My time passes by just begging for sleep, It's in my dreams your memory I keep. If you must go away please tell me why, A part of me stays, a part of me dies. I stare out my window, I walk upon floors, Just waiting to see you walk through my door. Why o why do I feel so all alone? The chill on my skin cuts deep to the bone. The tears never end, I just don't know why, I can not feel my heart, did I just die? The face in the mirror I do not know, Please take me with you the next time you go.
