Yeah no doubt. That "I'm good baby" from Billy after Tommy accused him of stress eating had me rolling lol. It's just a joy, win or lose, to watch these guys on their journey.

It def has a different sound to it now. Sounds alot cleaner and snappy. Cant wait see billy let go of the button.

Tuesday -Thursday only needed like a shim, a Monday or Friday frame needed 3-4 shims.

@@scottbaker1018 an 1/8” is well within factory spec for those frames. I’ve pulled a lot of those 60’s and 70’s frames where afterwards I didn’t need any shims where the factory had them because I pulled it back to spec. With those older frames, you never know, hitting the wall could’ve made it “righter”.

@@mikehunt3222 I respect your comments.. body mount shims are only for sheet metal alignment..As in front core support for example to set front clip sheet metal alignment. My response is the car hitting the wall and the front subframe being racked from the hit. Anyhow the old man was totally right on his comment.

@@scottbaker1018 I hear what you’re saying but you start from the frame up. The frame not being perfect from the factory are some of the reasons they needed all those shims, along with wear on the dies that pressed the sheet metal. Like I said before, an 1/8” is WAY within factory tolerances especially for 60’s and 70’s frames and that’s a unibody car which is known for twisting. They twist so much they’re also known for cracking the lead on the rear quarters just like the Camaros. Plus like he said it could’ve been racked even before he got it. The only way a person would ever know is if the car was measured before the wall hit, then measured after but an 1/8” is nothing and wouldn’t worry a bit about it. Especially as a drag car where air pressure in the tires, all the shocks and rear steer can be adjusted to make it go straight. A little story. When I went to Northern Maine Vocational College for auto body in the 80’s we went to Detroit to tour some of the car plants like Cadillac assembly, Ford assembly, Ford casting plant and Ford proving grounds and people joke about cars maybe being put together on a Friday afternoon because nothing lines up. Well, there’s more truth to that than you know. We hung out, went bar hopping and to a couple strip joints over in Ontario with some plant workers and they would tell us about starting the weekends early by having a few beers and smoking a few bowls on Fridays at lunch…….then going back to work. So like I said, a car from back then was probably lucky if it was just an 1/8in off and not an 1/8ft. 🤣

Thought something similar,but then I think it would be too tight in that shop.

These comments are comical, been building and working on race cars for 35 years, when a car gets wrecked at that speed they always get bent and need to be straightened to ever work right or u can massage things so they fit again but that's just band-aiding the real problem..

He really is. He gets made fun of for being a hack but he gets shit done and when not rushed he can do good work. Like rebuilding the sheet metal on the old Chevy truck. That was pretty impressive.
