My dad went out to drink with his friends and came back with two chicks. I named them and raised them, surprisingly they turned out very affectionate. They would come up to me for pets and to cuddle, slept on my lap and answered to their names. My parents told me we can't keep them for the winter so they gave them away 😢

It's true. Chicken breasts are soft and squishy. Good to the touch. How do i know that? I used to sell them. And had to move them around somehow. So i just picked them up and gg. And it was done like this. I held them with my hands below their wings. This way they can't fly away or peck me. But it just so happens that i feel them this way. Kinds weird.

For anyone wondering; meat birds have been selectively bred to grow *fast*, faster than their hearts can support. Meaning yes, this happens to them, because if they're not processed they get too big and suffer heart attacks. The options are die a quick, painless death or get too fat and muscular for their joints and heart to handle and die that way. I know that might sound harsh for some of you, but remember that these animals aren't humans and don't think and reason like us. These animals are almost entirely instincts, emotions just aren't something they're hard wired for, and their incapable of critical thinking in any notable capacity. And if you're still going to cry, remember they willingly and intentionally cannibalize each other. They're omnivorous opportunists and would absolutely eat you if they were big enough
