I ran a poll a week ago on my twitter, asking for which of 4 different ships followers would like to see. The votes were in favor of the Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser.

I love how it's just the Galaxy with an updated design when all is said in done. I was never a fan of the Galaxy-class but this looks great.

if you look at beta concept art for Star Trek Online, this is essentially what they originally were going for as a starting heavy ship for every captain.

From a first glance impression and even after watching it repeatedly, it really seems like this should have been the next and natural progression of the Enterprise D. Makes so much more sense that this would be the Enterprise E and the Sovereign class would then come after this. Then things would fit perfectly. That's definitely one bad ass looking ship!

I like that the class has a proper "neck" section, to give the design pose and depth (unlike the flat, stretched out Sovereign design). But JESUS that neck is HUGE.

Much better lines than the galaxy class starship. This should have been what was filmed for STTNG. Would definitely been eye candy to pep up the show even more! Looks like a hot rod turbo enterprise that riker would have slobbered over to jump in the command chair and peel out in. I can here him in 10forward now talking to ginan,"just wait till next time Picard is away and I'm conning the bridge! Yeee-haaww! We going for a ride!"

If memory serves me correctly, the Andromeda class was released on the same day Mass Effect Andromeda was also released, probably maybe as perhaps a nod at that franchise as well. I think it was good of them. Or perhaps I am just reading too much into it, but I was sure I read it was noted somewhere that it was launched on that specific day to mark MEA.

I love the StarDrive's Squatty design. It outlines the lines that connect the saucer module to the drive section seamlessly. The Engines Square Buzzard collectors really makes the uniqueness between the drive section & saucer very apparent without losing the symmetry of the united design. It looks perfectly balanced from all angles. A Beautiful replacement for the Galaxy Class Cruiser.

Another beautiful video thanks again Zef. Love the updated look of the Galaxy Class which is one of my favorite fed ships. Love seeing her fly through space and watching her launch a barrage of phasers and photon torpedoes so awesome! I am looking forward to getting back into sto when Victory is Life Launches but I may swing by sooner to take my T6 Fleet Exploration Cruiser out for spin.

I just love the ships fromStarfleet. I have no need for anything like this, but dang, it is pretty. I'm more interested in the smaller escort sized ships, but again I like the looks of this Andromeda Class.

Now this is cool. Finally, the attention to detail comes in. Maybe, maybe the nacels are spaced a bit too far apart but the rest of the design is so organic, nicely done.

my biggest issue with the Galaxy-class was design of the nacelles and specifically the struts, and this design really improves them… but I wish it hadn’t beefed-up the neck section like that.

I like both the venture and andromeda class. The andromeda class looks rugged and sturdy while the venture class looks smooth and organic.

If the nacelles pylons are going to attach to the nacelles at their forward half then they need to be backward swept instead of forward swept

i like the look but you'd think with it being the 25th century design they would've fixed the main design flaw by giving the saucer a engineering section with warp core along with a deflector on the bow like the nx the the saucer isn't a glorified life boat but another ship that can help if needed

Awesome video, as always. The Andromeda is one of my favorite STO designs (the Odyssey is still #1 for me). If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the camera to tilt like that in the opening shot (and get the game to not crash when entering a time/hold value for the points in demorecord)?

Thanks! The camera tilt was done during editing in Vegas. As for the crashing, I'm not sure what to tell you there.

Thank you for the reply. I got to get better at Vegas. Trimming and cropping the video are about all I know how to do in it :p Here's hoping the patch last Thursday solved my issue (haven't tried demorecord since the patch).
