Jorge, this is about as close to a perfect cut as it gets. Incredible talent, and great teaching technique.

I've been cutting my own hair since I was 17/18 (2002ish). Reason being; I hated how fast my hair grew and was getting a haircut like almost every week (15-20$ a week). I started off just doing a cesar cut, all even around and was just naturally good with doing my own edge up as well. Then I started doing my own tapers (just the temple), sometimes it came out right, sometimes it didn't (not entirely bad but noticeable if I pointed it out). Anyways, I'm in my mid 30s and have gotten excellent at cutting but I still enjoy watching videos of barber cuts. This was a good video, and that beat is sick.

Get some decent clippers that includes guards (1/16, 1/4, 1/2 etc). When doing your line up, I use like a small comb as a guide line by lining the edge of the comb to my hairline and cutting along that line using comb as guide. I do that for the front hairline. For the back and sides just imagine an imaginary line when lining up your back, sides and temple. Using an edger (I personally use Andis T liner), for your line make sure you cut away from edge of hair and not towards it.

Just did my first self cut today, I must've watched this video maybe 15 times before I actually began cutting, This was the first video I watched that actually made me understand fading and guidelines, I'm happy with the results especially in the front, slightly messed up one of the back taper line ups and messed a bit of the back fade, hairline could be sharper and fade more blurry but for my first cut after being so anxious/worried I'm very pleased. Thanks Jorge the way you explain makes it easy to understand.

i just started cutting my own hair . im learning that changing up the guards makes the hair come out the way you want it when tapering. i thought all this time you just use the trimmers or liner to do this . wow im getting there.

whenever a barber lines up a client halfway through the cut. They did something that they didn't think would work. But his skills let him correct it very well. It's learning your client hair and different ways hair changes between cuts. he recovered well.

He's using a semi-permanent dye. If allowed to sit in the hair for at least 7minutes, it will actually dye the hair. Semi-permanent color lightens up each time you shampoo the hair until it's gone. Otherwise it'll last for days.
