This is early access btw, game isn't fully released, devs said there is a lot of work they still need to do, but the don't want to delay. This game is going to be really cool when it's done.

SotF is awesome! Green Hell has to be more realistic though, considering it makes you check your body for certain ailments like cuts or leeches.

actually its not a survival game. its a tower defense game where increasingly difficult mobs spawn the more days pass. the '' survival '' aspect is laughable

This games also has canibals who likes to dress in ppls intestants after eating them, and putting ppl on poles. You can also shoot them with the arrow and stab them with the spear, and if they don't back off you can cut off the head of one of them chasing the rest holding the head in front of you running after them.

Both the Forest and Sons of the Forest are well worth their money! I remember running through the forest close to sundown and it startled me when one of those cannibals ran up on me! That's when you nope outta there in the other direction. The most tedious part was constantly gathering resources, but they've given you some help in the form of Kelvin, in Sons.

If you don't know what the game is its Son's of the Forest it's only on pc or PCvr, it is a better version of the first one which is called The Forest

When it comes to most realistic i would say it's Green Hell

I know this is pretty late, but the game still had quite a few bugs and annoying things in it. A few annoyances are: -You can never respawn at a base if you die, even if you are nearby that base -The game map is WAY too big, which is especially noticable because you have to go all across it to complete the story. It took me at least 5-10 more hours to complete the story because of this. -Some crafting recipes are unnecessarily expensive. For example you need duct tape to make a spear, when all it adds is a useless grip on the spear. -Some weapons are either too weak or too powerful. The primitve crafted bow does hardly any damage at all, and the arrow drop on it is so bad that I stopped using it entirely until I got the modern bow. It is not balanced well unlike the first game. The chainsaw does virtually no damage despite it being, well, a chainsaw. The guns felt a bit strange after playing the first game, but they were well balanced. I found that the melee combat was fun but many weapons didn't do enough damage, which was especially notable when I started my second playthrough on hard difficulty. -The game transitioning away from the bluelrint building system and more into the custom system is nice, but manually building some things takes too long, ie; building and spiking walls. Many buildings dont work together well or at all, or only work in some orders. -Cannibal camps feel too frequent. -There are no rafts, which is a missed opportunity considering how big the map is. -Crafting can get very tedious, because everything has a unique animation. If you could craft in bulk and do the animation only once or something, that would be nice. -Transportation methods that they added to the game are terrible. The knight wheel thing is useless because it boots you off when you run into something, and was a joke anyways. The golf cart is good but since your in a forest (duh) it has limited use. -Not enough weapons and things to make considering the amount of resources that are given to you (especially rope). -Farming seems very useless. Eating berries gives little food, and it seems farming is only useful for the cooking pot recipes, which seem cool. It is a shame that farming has been nerfed and it is also a shame that most food methods are useless, becauce you will find a stupid amount of MRE's. Anyway game is good fun, but needs more work. It is also in early access so much of this will probably get fixed/tweaked

It's up there. I really like Grounded still, but my survival game journey started with The Forest, so Sons is really dear to heart. Ive only been playing Sons for about two weeks and im really enjoying it

The best is still dayZ you can do letterly everything in that game, even get sick and search for medicines for it to get better, build a safe house, raid other safe houses realy everything, search gear and weapons even the bullets you need to find for all the weapons you find, that game is already 10years old and still a blast and the best!

I’ve been happily enjoying the forest for over 100 hours now, and enjoyed the original for 185 hours. SOTF is in no way shape or form the best survival game out there. It can’t touch Valheim, or even Subnautica.

The forest is a very easy survival game, Fallout 4s survival mode is pretty decent I feel. You can get sick from the weather which decreases stats if you’re not protected. You can’t sleep on dirty mattresses or sleeping bags for too long so you’d rather make a clean bed plus it only saves when sleeping so you think before stupid fights or damage. setting up a medical clinic to cure illnesses and sickness. Plus the thirst is so annoying💀you constantly need purified water
