There's a song called "Boom Boom" by John Lee Hooker that has that exact same riff in the beggining of it. Crazy how just playing the notes at times can make the riff change genre completely.

That is an E minor lick in the second position leading into a G cord. Do the same thing with an open position E cord, it’s a standard blues lick.

Just learn to play it really slow until you have it down and gradually pick up the speed. Always focus on playing clean first, speed will come as you progress.

Thanks! Yes it is standard tuning. Each song is played in a certain key. This lick is for a song played in the key of G. It could be any song, some songs it wouldn’t work for because of the tempo. I hope that answers your questions. Thanks so much for watching.
