Dear freya, I played this song at my mams funeral on Wednesday 30th January 2019 at South Shields crematorium at 9.45. Me and my brothers carried our mother on her last journey whilst your voice sang her to peace and to rest. The words to your song mean more to me than lyrics, without you knowing you have become a person I'll never meet, greet or know personally but this beautiful song along with my mother are a memory that has become part of my life that I will never forget. So sorry for your loss this song was also played as the middle funeral song for my soulmate funeral at Tynemouth Crematorium 24th October gone died in my arms after seventeen years together aged 39 off sepsis im utterly truamatised witnesing it all my thoughts are with you at this sad time thus song will forever be special 💔

I’m 66 years old . When I first heard this song I thought it was so hauntingly beautiful. This past Mothers Day (2024) I came home sad, missing my mom as I Always do. I listened to this song agiain, I really listened to the words and I realized I’ve been trying to be so strong in dealing with her loss, I had the hardest cry I’ve had in many years. My mother died 51 years ago, she was only 38 years old. I was only 15 years old when she died. It’s been 51 very, very long years of missing her. Loss is one of the hardest things we as humans have to deal with ❤Sending love to all who know what the journey of grief feels like ❤

Ahh thats so sad thinkin on u..my wee mum is still alive but we hv lost her to dementia/alzheimer's horrible horrible disease..but we will look after her as best we can until she gets her place in heaven..because thats were she is going the most kindess person ever to b left like this..its sad my wee mum

Standing in my kitchen at 4:30 am looking at pictures on the fridge of my son who was born sleeping 3 months premature. Listening to this and failing horribly to hold back the tears that roll off my cheeks and land on my 4 month old daughter in my arms who is finally asleep. What a wild ride this life can be and what a privilege it is to feel when so many never get the chance. 💙❤

This was my best friends funeral song... this song genuinely means so much to me. It gives me shivers every time I hear it come on. I love this song, but I hate it at the same time. It’s the perfect send off song for my bro, but it’s also the song that brings me to tears. Honestly he was such a big part of my life. We literally grew up together. We went to the same school ever since we were in nappies. He were my rock when shit got me down. Sending him off was the hardest day of my life, and his soul will stay with me till the day I go to meet him. still can’t believe he’s actually gone, He was the boy with the most life, and yet he was taken first, He was far too young. He was only 14, the same age as me. He had so much to live for, so much you had to yet experience. It hasn’t even been 2 months without him, and there’s not been a day go by where he hasn’t been on my mind. I list my mum 4 yrs ago today, she too was my bedt friend. I miss her beyond words, it's so very difficult and you may never think it but you will get stronger, adapt, re shape and eventually go on, but never fir a moment will you not stop missing and yearning, however in those moments you will feel her with you. I recently lost my 18 Yr old son. At the request of his girlfriend this was played as he entered the crematorium being carried by his two older brothers and 4 mates from his rugby team . Never has a song left such an imprint on my heart . Thank you to Freya Ridings for writing this beautiful song and also to my son's beau for introducing me to it . I'm still stood at the platform and one day the train to glory will stop and take my ticket to see my boy again

Absolutely beautiful song and voice. I lost my mum December 30, 2020, lost my dad less than 3 months later on March 25, 2021 and got the call that my brother died 7 months later on October 28, 2021. Lost my entire immediate family within 10 months. My heart is completely broken 💔 and listening to this beautiful song and reading the comments makes me feel less alone in my grief.

My wife Judith died from cancer a couple of months ago - a few months earlier she told me the songs for her funeral. I didn’t really know this song but I realise now what a wonderful emotive tune it is, sung brilliantly by this fabulous artist. I now listen to it every morning when I wake - shed a few tears but knowing that my wonderful wife of 40 years is now at peace. I can’t wait to join her.

I was working at stand up to cancer summer of 2018 and she performed this live. Bought me to tears back then, my dad had been living with cancer for a few years at that point so hit me hard knowing I would be lost without him when he passed. He died 24th December that year. Still lost without him and it’s 2024 now. Every now and then I just have to hear this song.

I lost my baby 3 weeks ago too. My baby was 11 weeks and 4 days when their heart stopped beating. We must remember that although it is hard at the moment, that wasn’t the baby we were meant to have, our future babies are and that was the sacrifice our angel babies made.

So sorry for your loss. I was with my dad at his bedside when he passed in October of 2015. This song is cathartic in that it helps to let it all out! I think if I were to hear this literally on the way home after my dad passed, I wouldn’t be able to keep it together! It’s so hard, isn’t it? They’re watching over us. I am not religious by any means, but I believe that.

I buried my mother with my brother, she come to see my family on the train.. i sang birdy "wings" at her funeral then played this on the way out.. six weeks after thst my fsther survived a horrific crash into his moterbike.. lost his leg, had his shoulder crushed and now has cancer.. im holding on as tight as i can.. i lost my only brother too, he was 33 ... i arranged his funeral my mam is buried with her son.. but this song is so lovely we used to run aling the platform when she was leaving to go home... there are angels and everything happens for a reason.. be positive as you can.. and try to give a held out arm to as many as you can thst need it xxx

This song has always made me cry because it reminds me of everything I've lost including my best friend, my mum( due to cancer) , and my younger brother who was killed in a crash. It helps me through everything. I want to thank you for making it.

hey king/queen you’ve got this. i lost my best friend and my boyfriend in a car crash 10th of august 2019. i was the only survivor out of the 2 cars that crashed. all i’m saying is that 7 attempts later i’m still here. so if you ever think you want to give up. remember that life goes on, even through the toughest times. we love you. chin up
