I have written this music in the style of traditional Scandinavian folk music, albeit more modern in instrumentation than what Viking music must have sounded like according to archeological finds and our current knowledge about the period. Yet it is true to form in its storytelling nature.
PS. My house, where I wrote this piece of music, was built on top of the remains of the grand hall of a large Viking settlement in western Sweden. How about that!

I named my daughter FREYJA!!!! She’s literally the love of my life. She’s the best baby in the whole wide universe. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT she’s my best friend as well. I love her so much. I will keep on saying that forever until I’m blue in the face!!!!

Freya is The Goddess of love und beauty, she ist owner of half of the Valhalla. She is a sage, a magician and leads the Valkyries.

Believe it or not, it is nowhere attested anywhere in historical texts or in archaeology that Freyja is leader of the Valkyries. It's a common misconception

This is cello, which is not an authentic instrument from the Viking Age. However, I believe it captures the feeling of how we think about that age today very well, and many people seem to agree 👍
