A man believed to be involved in the murder of amputee Verant Edwards, who died on Thursday 13th June 2024, after he was set ablaze near the Maxi Hub along Manic Street, Chaguanas on Saturday 8th June 2024, was taken into police custody.
• I spoke to the alleged suspect identified as Darren Seales of Flemming Street in Longdenville, near the crime scene on Tuesday 2nd July, 2024.
CCTV footage captured four men robbing Kimz Electronics along Rodney Road, Endeavour, Chaguanas on Tuesday 2nd July, 2024.
• Around 3:30pm, a female employee identified as Felisha Mohammed was on duty at Kimz Electronics, when four masked men, two of which were armed with guns entered and announced a robbery.
• The suspects then proceeded to relieve the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash which represented the day’s sale and a quantity of electronic items before fleeing the scene in a silver Nissan Versa registered PDH 3614.
The man who was gunned down at the corner of Belmont Valley Road and St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont on Thursday 11th July 2024, has been identified as 26-year-old Shaquille Perreira of Upper Belmont Valley Road.
A man identified as Joseph Jack from St Ann’s died following a road traffic accident near Dwight York stadium along the Claud Noel highway in Tobago earlier on Friday 12th July, 2024.
A member of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment identified as Shaquille Antoine aka “Dory” reportedly died after he suffered a heart attack while at the Gym earlier today.
A total of three (3) suicides were recorded in the country for the week thus far.
In the most recent incident, a young man was found hanging at his home in Penal on Thursday 11th July, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Shiva Mahadeo of Digity Road, Transfer Village, Penal.
A $15,000 reward has been offered for information surrounding the disappearance of TTRS driver, 32-year-old Shakeem Charles who was reported missing after he was last seen in Port-of-Spain on Tuesday 9th July, 2024 in his white Toyota Yaris Cross registered PEG 2166.
Two officials from state-owned Paria Fuel Trading Company Ltd, as well as the head of Land and Marine and Construction Services (LMCS) were charged in connection with the deaths of four LMCS divers in 2022, when they appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate on Wednesday 10th July, 2024.
• Paria’s general manager, Mushtaq Mohammed, and operations manager Colin Piper, as well as LMCS head Kazim Ali Snr, were charged by Insp Brisbane of the Occupational Safety and Health Authority and Agency (OSHA).
On February 25th, 2022: Kazim Ali Jr, Rishi Nagassar, Fyzal Kurban, Yusuf Henry, and Christopher Boodram were repairing a 30-inch pipeline at Paria’s Pointe-a-Pierre facility when they were sucked into it.
• Boodram was the lone survivor of the incident.
Following the fatal incident, A Commission of Enquiry (CoE) led by chairman Jerome Lynch, KC, which cost taxpayers 15.5 million dollars was initiated and the report was delivered to President Christine Kangaloo on November 30th, 2023.
A Father and his son were shot and wounded during an arson attack at their Tarouba Road, Marabella home earlier on Friday 12th July 2024.
• The victims were identified as Ricky Bhagwat and his 24-year-old son Rishi Bhagwat.
