Love your humor and your laugh Glenda! I have an offbeat sense of humor and was reading a few weeks ago, a little, historical book about a woman who move from back east to the CA. Gold mining town of Columbia in the 1850's. One of the towns residents had died and the footnote at the bottom of the page said , something like "James Smith, age 58, passed away Sunday Oct. 15th." "Cause of death : General decay." LOL THAT has been making me laugh and joke for weeks now. That we are all dying of "general decay" hahaha Enjoy your pot o' beans Glenda, they look delicious!

True. You need a few inches clearance for the door to open. The fridge sticks out farther than the stove. That's probably why they left it like that. Squeeze as many tenants in for as much rent as you can.

Scorpion The packaging is manufactured in China, not the garlic
@scorpion8rage5 жыл бұрын
@Marilyn Cwik Yes, and it goes to show you even with our much higher safety standards we still have cases of contamination. Now imagine in China where very little standards exist and food is often produced and prepared in peoples' private homes before even reaching the factories for distribution. It's an amazing process really. Early in the morning carts come from the factories and pick up the foods from peoples' homes. While that is not the case in *every* situation of production, it's very common. And even in the factories that do keep it all on premises, the safety standards are nearly non-existant. They just do not have the laws we have in the West concerning food safety (or many items of safety we have here). That's ok for over there. I don't believe in interfering with other countries cultures or standards but when it comes to food here, it shouldn't even be allowed... yet somehow is.

I have no problem with "made in China," or even "grown in China," because some things aren't able to be grown other places, but I DID hear about the Chinese garlic being substandard .... while subject to the same food laws as garlic grown here, it's much more likely to be sprayed with undisclosed chemicals or insecticides. California garlic is generally the gold standard for American cooks since it's more "local" and likely fresher, not to mention the fields are regularly inspected.

Lima beans! One of my favorites. This is what China want's you to think.That is deceptive. You don't need bell pepper in the beans they are better the old fashion way the way you are doing it now. Glenda no matter when you tune in you are always so pleasant, even when you don't feel good. It is nice to tune in and hear a pleasant voice . @Starwberry Cream, You are correct. Drive a car and tell me there are no parts made in China. Use a computer of ANY BRAND, tell me there are no parts made in China. Buy granite pieces for a construction project, tell me you'd rather pay for the higher priced granite/marble cut here in the US (I live in the granite state). The cheap chicken that you feel so great about buying, is grown here in the US, shipped off to China for slaughter and brought back to the US. This last one would upset my deceased father (construction contractor)...China has huge ships off the coast of the US. The lumber industry gives them the raw material and they cut and saw the pieces for your shopping pleasure at places like Home Depot and Lowe's. So your statement couldn't be any more true...

Glenda I never had cereal when I grew up. While living with my grandmother every morning she made breakfast and my mom carried on with that. The only time we had a big breakfast was Saturday and Sunday. Through the week we had oatmeal, grit casserole, biscuits and gravy, omelets each day would be something different. My boys also had never done cereal. I didn't realize that I and my family were different when it came to breakfast. On the weekends when we had the big breakfast it was brunch and lunch was something we never thought about. Glenda I grew up around many cooks and started cooking when I was 7. My grandmother stood me up in a chair and the cooking began LOL I hope you enjoy those white beans. I personally haven't met a bean I don't like 😋😋 Love you Glenda...

Yes I have to say so. Now my grandkids talked me there grandmother into getting a couple of boxes of cereal. They know grandmother likes cinnamon so they had me get Cinnamon Toast Crunch then I saw Honey Bunches Of Oates and I remembered my Mother having that cereal in her later years and she was like me Milk was something that wasn't are favorite. But she ate her cereal as a snack in the evenings. Then I remembered my grandmother having Raisin Crunch Cereal but it was for an evening snack. I remembered this but it wasn't used for breakfast. So I got me a couple of boxes. I also used as a snack. I admit I did enjoy when I was looking for something to snack on. I will say my boys also had no idea about cereal. But now my grandkids are different. They enjoy their cereal.......Glenda my Dear your videos are not to long.....

Exactly right. I read this and now look for roots when I buy garlic. Chinese garlic always has the root shaved off. It's a law. Their soil, fertilizer, water and even their AIR is so polluted! You are correct in rejecting garlic grown in China.

You look FABULOUS! You seem to be getting that spunk back after that lengthy Trifecta. I love how you just taught me that when you let your mind run and negative thoughts start to invade we need to get ourselves up and do something creative and productive ! You are so inspiring girl!!

Thank you. Wendy. I used to just lay in bed & ruminate. Then it occurred to me that I have control over my mind not the other way around
