Isn't the Guile vs Rugal special intro actually a reference to one of the statues in the KOF 94 pre-Rugal boss fight cutscene that looked a lot like Guile?

This game had, in my humble opinion, the best cast of fighting characters basically ever. Each character was pretty well rounded. Was tons of fun playing this with my little brother growing up.

I love how during the intro when everyone is grabbing their arcade sticks Wooly sits down with his and the next shot is him walking into the room whilst Matt and Pat still have the sticks on their laps. This has probably been mentioned before but now I laugh about it every time.

Glad I’m not the only one who shouts out moves/quotes of characters whilst playing. Especially with Joe Higashi “YOSHA!!!” LMAOO

Oh my god, that ice stage is the sickest shit I've ever seen! I love how that huge icebreaker just pulls up, opens its ENTIRE SIDE, and fires out ropey streams of flags! It's easily in my top 10 fighting game stages.

This has probably been pointed out, but in case you didn't see it before now, the first few name entries on the high score board refer to the game being a dream match. "Yume" is the Japanese word for "dream", and while my Japanese isn't great, "no" is typically a possessive, although "yumeno" could be a word of its own; Japanese is a highly contextual language, so it's not easy for me to tell with limited context.

Truly this is the tuna with bacon.

Couple random thoughts... 1) Orochi Iori in this looks fucking FRIGHTENING! Like "Oh his at the end of this alleyway? Well I'm clearly about to die..." scary. 2) Kim Kaphwan is an awesome underrated character. His so a-dork-able in his love of justice, especially in moments like the team Fatal Fury: Real Bout ending, when his drunk at the Pao Pao Cafe. Plus Jae Hoon is totally the better kid, he has his own fan club that brings him water at the snap of his fingers. Dong could only dream of such a thing. 3) I feel like this game would've benefited from the pre-fight dialogue that KOF XIII and SvC Chaos had. Although better than SvC since that felt badly rushed (Speaking of games that should be played in Fisticuffs... what a weird ass game that was. I can't unsee midnight bliss'd Hugo...) 4) Rock Howard is awesome you shut it hater.

I thought that a part of the reference in the Rugal and Guile intro was also the fact that one of Rugal's statues looks a lot like Guile in his Sonic Boom pose, when you are introduced to him in KOF 94. Go and Google "KOF 94 Guile statue" and check the images to see a shot of it.

My favorite fighter! So many memories, I still remember playing it back in 2001 when it came out and just staying up many nights playing against my cousins. Still have it for PS2 and the PS3 download

I prefer Tsundere sharks to Kawaii sharks.

This was the game that opened my eyes to 2D fighters! I still remember playing a few bucks every day at Port Authority after school ten years ago and getting whipped, then going home and practicing like crazy.

OMG This was my Favorite game when I was a kid, even though I didn't know Dan was a joke character at the time I still kick butt with him.

I think it'd be nice to have different versions of the intro. For example when its Pats version he opens the door, looks at you for a moment then attempts to close it on your face, but you manage to stop him and he whines about it.
