Why is there so much hate for this woman right now? I've heard several of her songs and have quite liked them. Is there something I don't know? Anyway, it makes me feel better knowing I'm in good company. Thanks for the review, Bret.

this is actually one of the only positive reviews i've seen of this album. i don't understand why lana gets so much hate. another thing, i've heard multiple people say they thing brooklyn baby is satirical. i don't understand what's so funny about it. i've never laughed once while listening to it.

Hello Amir - thanks for watching and commenting. I also don't understand why she gets so much hate - totally uncalled for. As far as Brooklyn Baby goes... I think the song pokes fun at the so-called 'hipster' - that are prevalent in Brooklyn USA.

I absolutely love Brooklyn Baby, but I also think it's hilarious. It's super kitschy and over the top, but it becomes quite serious in the bridge, where she says 'if you don't like it you can beat it.' That little part is what makes me love the song ironically and also unironically... I dunno, lots of layers, lol. But it's just so ridiculous.

Nice video, Bret! I would really love to get her stuff on vinyl! I've been digging this album like a grave. What strikes me most about it is that it's one of those unique albums that gets better and better with each listen. I'm gonna have to cheat and name four (I can't trim it any more than that), and they would be Cruel World, Ultraviolence, West Coast and Money Power Glory.

Thanks ***** - apparently the UK vinyl edition comes with 3 bonus tracks. Urban Outfitters is also selling a special edition that has a different cover - and on colored vinyl - so there are lots of different versions to choose from. Yes, definitely keeps getting better and better. Thanks for watching!

I was waiting for you to do a video about Ultraviolence, Bret! This album will definitely be in the top five of my year-end list. I love that she went in a darker, almost anti-pop direction with this record. That "beat it" line in Brooklyn Baby stood out for me as well. My three favourite tracks are Ultraviolence, Brooklyn Baby, and Money Power Glory.This is Sierra btw. Sorry this is a little incoherent! (*^_^*)

Hey Sierra, I love the dark direction this album took. It was definitely there on Born To Die, but the mood carries all the way through every track on Ultraviolence. Excellent. Haha, not incoherent at all. :)

Just found your channel, cool! Big Lana fan here. I actually found this disc rather weak towards the second half. I much preferred the bootleg album `Die for me ` that contains a lot of polished demos.

Hi Bret , haven't heard this album but I watched her on the BBCs coverage of Glastonbury on Saturday and the performance was underwhelming , I wondered whether it was that her music doesn't transfer well to that "openness " of the stage on that scale?

Hey John, I watched her performance of the title track - Ultraviolence - and I actually really liked it (BBC posted it to their KZfaq channel). I'm hoping that the entire set is made available. Have you gotten the album?

Hi I know it's been a while since this release but I just picked up a copy of this vinyl but my copy is censored. Is your copy like this? Or did I just get super unlucky and got this shitty version that sounds like it's skipping on all the bad words?
