From the time he was sitting at his childhood house...where he said the bit by spider line...when he said me mustve been a goat it was followed with lyrics saying he dreamt of being there with the hope he could change lives and be the one to inspire others..and then he proceeded to walk through Detroit Stamping-his job in 8 mile which he never worked at..he worked at burger king but used detroit stamping bcz its where many worked and it was considered menial by alot bt was respected as a consistent employer in Detroit..hard workers struggling some w/goals to do better..eminem worked 60 hours a week at BK when Hailie was born so its his story bt paid respect by using DS..so hes walking us through all the major points abt his life reminding us he didnt walk in with respect handed anywhere...goes up stairs just like his csreer climbed and then after hes off stairs the melly mell starts..Em says he was dissed by one of the ones that inspired him to try abd when hes told to let it slide like he hasso many times bcz Mel is a legend he FINALLY stops being quite out of respect to remind melly and us HE is a Legend too. In many ways he IS the legend right now. He was discovered by a Legend..became a Legend and then discovered another Legend 50...this song is him saying the same thing abt the reason they don't have me at 1..hes on a list under ppl who havent had nearly his numbers and have lost to him publicly. This video tells a huge story
