I had the pleasure of meeting Faye, one on one, many times, but for HIPPA reasons I can't say why, I'm a doctor (no, SHE wasn't the patient!), but I sat with her many times at the kitchen table while she ate pan seared fish and steamed broccoli that she whipped up herself, and off a movie set she is a completely different person, I PROMISE YOU AND EVERYONE THAT! She never once was rude, course, obnoxious, she was just like somebody's mom really! In fact her son will tell you the same! This all took place in SC I might add, and I'd meet her at a certain home here in the outskirts of Columbia in a neighborhood with large homes, several acres of land, horses in the yard, and there she was being like a mother to me! She was kind and generous to me and never once raised her voice or made me feel anything but that i could have been sitting with my own mother or aunt or neighbor chatting at the kitchen table. I wish they'd post stuff like that about her instead of the other actors and actresses, who likely had big egos too, that had run-ins with her on set. She WAS a perfectionist and i think that must have been what came across in a crass way. So what. Most every famous entertainer, especially actors and actresses of her status, aren't particularly pleasant to anyone they meet really! I still have her cell number, even her old international cell number!, her NYC apartment address, LA address, the works. She's the only famous person other than Stevie Nicks that I've ever met. Stevie of course was beyond being a beautifully talented artist but a person just with the same beautiful qualities as her talent. Anyway, please continue your admiration of Faye as she truly is a lovely person and if you ever had the opportunity to sit and have a bite of lunch with her don't be surprised if she doesn't hold her fork out with a bit of her pan-seared fish and steamed broccoli on the end of her fork for you to have a bite with her! With Bonnie and Clyde (Warren Beatty), the Thomas Crown Affair (Steve, McQueen), and Chinatown (Jack Nicholson), and Network under her belt, plus the fasion icon of the 60's and 70's she was, they just don't get any better.

Sometimes have to wonder if Faye Dunaway is misunderstood. Hear all the reports about how difficult she was to work with and I think some of that of course might be true but was she more difficult than many of the other actors? Not sure she was. Just the other day, found a KZfaq video of an answering machine message she left when she was very upset. It appeared from the message that she had an interview and they only focused on Mommie Dearest and her conflicts with Andrew Lloyd Webber and didn't focus on any of her great movies where people got along with her. She was arguing her point on the message and it was very classy to me. it should have been a case study on how to argue your point in a professional way and yes she was heated but she was not disrespectful or unprofessional in any way. There was no cursing and she is absolutely so articulate here in this interview

Playing "Kabuki" in a role can often stick with an actor affecting their style. This occured with Mommie Dearest writ large. If you watch her work her face muscles were never the same. Dunaway also hit a certain age and many roles were just turned down or not offered. She did not have a comedy repertoire either, so that took her out of many possibilities as well. That said she made many films in the late 60's-70's back to back that are all literal hits. Erm.. so she was very, very successful. Comedy is one of the hardest things to do and really she could play glam camp but...

She made Barfly and was so incredible raw and real, which I think she hoped to leverage her on top again. Well nobody’s perfect and still appreciate her as a great actress. Her role in “Network” was explosive and her Oscar winning performance was well deserved. Loved her too in the “Three Musketeers”and “Supergirl”, looked as though she had a lot of fun playing those villainous roles. Enjoyed her fashion stint in those Alessandro Michele/Gucci ads. In every sense of the word just an absolute true exceptional actress.

I’m on her side, actually. She previously said sorry to a crew member repeatedly and it seems she directing herself, which is difficult. An actor of her calibre wants direction, the very least calling action while she is behind closed doors. Breaking it down further, Action, doors open, dialog with energy, walk forward to a mark, find your light, continue dialog all the while the whole crew is standing there watching a real movie star. Oh, she’s never met most of these people and is told do all this by a crew she has no relationship, that could make her look bad when the project is out.

@valeria-militiamessalina5672 There is a story that when The Towering Inferno was made she kept arriving on set very late, keeping the actors waiting. Apparently one day William Holden had enough and grabbed her, threatening her if she ever did it again.

Not a good interview..too relaxed..almost seems stupid..but WHAT AN ACTRESS?! I see `Chinatown` on a regular basis...It ranks up there with `Psycho` as one of my top 5. Dunaway and Nicholson or NIcholson and Dunaway. Each one drives the other. Top of the mark performances. Classic, great great Polanski film.

It's too bad she's difficult to work with. She's one of the great screen legends. Today's actresses except for a few are vapid and forgettable.
