It's because it makes the fingers visually read. When you have all black fingers in a black and white film you don't see the overlapping lines and when the hands gesture on the body they disappear as it becomes black on black.

I'm glad this one just seems to be real, I honestly hate it when a movie says "Haha he was just imagining it!" or tries to make it ambiguous, that adds nothing for me. That makes it no different than any other movie with a drugged up or crazy character, making it real makes the unique situation they're in feel like it's own story.

@@doubtful_seer Yeah I really hated all the theories about how in the Joker movie the entire thing was just him telling a story to the therapist at the end, that does nothing but take away from the movie for me. We see the inconsistencies unravel in the movie itself so why the hell would he include them in just some rando story he told? The Joker usually works as an enigma but there's nothing wrong with giving him an origin like that.

I couldn't finish the whole film, but periodically -- since I have SHUDDER -- I go back to this film to watch the excellent rant about Walt Disney being a racist. Excellent monologue done by the actor.

I don't know why, but I thought there was a weirdly wholesome message within this movie. Maybe I'm just reading into it or something. Like he had to become alien to rediscover his humanity. I liked it.
