the Friedman is too scooped in the mids to be usable with a band. The Lagrange has better mids than all of them. The boost on the Lagrange is independant of the gain channel. you guys had it on when the Friedman was on and it boosted the Friedman. Angry Charlie is muddy with the gain maxxed like that , have to back off the gain for real playing situations with all of them. Pinnacle was ok with the contour turned down. Bogner was the best and most versatile of these. Thanks for your time and making the video.

Great demo! I have three of the four but got rid of one. The Pinnacle was way to much EVH for me so I dumped it. I had a hard time trying to find the Bogner and then I came across one. So the nice people at the local guitar shop (actually one state away) put the last one they had off to the side for me. So I will be grabbing the La Grange tomorrow!

Oh wow I literally have all these pedals. I'm a distortion pedal addict. I think the JHS AC and AT AC are my favorites. Just my opinion. And I have the SB limited edition. Cheers. Oh the Lagrange I like it but it can get fuzzy with the wrong amp but it's still great.

The boost on the La Grange works as a stand alone boost, so you are boosting the BE pedal too, since the boost stays on all the time when you switch between the BE and La Grange.

johanaavit On my bogner uber pedal the boost doesnt work unless the OD side is activated i assumed this one is same. It(boost) stays lit up regardless so you know you have it on

I know. But the La Grange boost is different. I have the box and it is a separate clean boost after the gain (and separate from the gain stage)

All sound great, I prefer the Charlie with less gain and more volume, you really get that rip roaring amp vibe. But I really enjoyed the Friedmans.

Nice demo of these pedals. But my personal favorite tone is the whistling, nose breathing tone!

Through the clean amp the Friedman had too much fizz in the top end for me I prefer the Lagrange's warmth to it on that clean amp

The presence controll works really well in that case, but the guy dialing seems to ignore that controll

Diming the gain on all of them made this video not very useful at all. To me these kind of pedals are all about finding the sweet spot on the gain where it's both gnarly and dynamic, and it's never with the gain all the way up.

La Grange seemed to work best with both amps. Friedman sounded like junk through the Morgan. Surprising since it seems to be built with clean amps in mind. No?

Der Angry Charlie war "Maßstab der marshallmäßigen Pedale"??? Was für ein Schmarrn. Der war immer nur eine Kopie der MI Audio Crunchbox, die eine Variante des Marshall Guv'nor/Drivemaster war, bloß eben mit vereinfachter Klangregelung. In der aktuellen VErsion hat JHS halt die TMB-Klangregelung aus dem Guv'nor wieder an Bord geholt. Alle sind simple Diodenclipper mit sehr eindimensionalem, komprimiertem Sound. Manchmal gar nicht schlecht und oft sehr durchsetzungsfähig, aber als gute Annäherung an den Marshallsound galt das vor 20 Jahren. Heute gibt es doch unzählige Pedale, die das viel besser können, etwa PAL JCM 800 Emu, Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret, ROG Thunderbird...

I love the LA Grange but somehow on this demo, they make it sound fuzzy, noisy and flubby. Weird, did they break it or something?

People with not much time to spare: Skip the talking, sound samples start at 4:00. Feedback at about 10:50 is annoying. At 13:16 it's embarrassing. Other than Pete Thorn, these two guys can really make every pedal sound bad. Poor Angry Charlie is already puking - don't they hear it? And why the f**k do they turn the gain control way up too high? I don't know of any pedal where max gain delivers a great sound Besides, in a demo like this the performer should always play exactly the same riffs for dependable results. Some sound samples aremuch too low in volume. Other users here seem to agree: this video has a 105:55 ratio which is very bad. This is an awful demo. A shame for one of Germany's leading music shops.

BE-OD is NOT a Plexi pedal, it's an JCM800/2000 HI Gain! I've tried the BE OD and it is just another JCM800 in a box, nothing plexi there, too much drive (compressed as F***), too much mids (no Mid eq), my Tech 21 is way better and way cheaper. People claim that the BE OD is like the BE amp but it is nothing the amp at all, it doesn't ever clean up using the knob like a real amp. Too expensive for another metal pedal IMO.

Glauber Joe Yes, I must agree with Joe, a Tech 21 GT2 or British would give all of these pedals some serious competition. It does help to know what Era of Marshall you prefer before you decide on a pedal.

Exactly! I've heard worse over the years on the internet...not surprised at all and neither should you be. Every clueless person has got a big opinion. I've seen people saying that a crappy POD sounds better than a Germino! After that, nothing can shock me
