Wow the presence really brought up some treble and sounded pretty creamy. The treble sounded like it was in the perfect range. Love that. Too many amps have the tone controls in the wrong frequency

I got to play one of these heads a few months back at the local store. I came away thinking that it was the best guitar amp I had every played in my life !! Cranking all the tone knobs up and down yielded many different flavors of great tones that would be useful for a good variety of different mix situations. I seriously couldn't find a bad sound anywhere in that amp !! It also responded nicely to varying guitar volume and tone controls. On another note, loved that wild note bend at 2:07 in the video !!

I have owned this model for close to a month now and it makes my heart happy! I don't have room for a 4x12 at the moment but when I do I am so gonna break some noise ordinance laws, and it's already bad enough with a 2x12.

Michael great playing. I know this was recorded with a combination of greenbacks and v30s. All I have is a mesa 4x12 rectifier with v30s did you try it with just v30s? If so how did it sound? Thanks for these great reviews

Hello Michael, since you played them both - could you explain the similarities or differences between gain structure switch of the Phil X head and the Pink Taco V2? I have the PInk Taco V2 and love it, but wished it to have a presence control and more wattage… so the X model seams tempting… from what I hear the X model seams more open and uncompressed when compared to the PT V2, doesn’t it?

Love the Friedman tone. Best modded Marshall tone out there. Hate the stupid graphics on this amp. I have been wearing out my Friedman profiles on my Kemper lately. Great saturated rock tones.

Great sounding head but I'd take the Jake E Lee model over it anyday. It blew me away in your demo Mike. You just can't beat a Plexi & an 800 all in one head. And it really did sound like a great Plexi & a great 800.

I always considered Friedman the best sounding amps but this one sounds really dull to me, yet, you can definitely tell it's the Phil X sound... I guess it's just Phil's preference anyway. By the way, I came across your channel just recently and I'm watching all your videos, great stuff from a great producer!

never been a friedman fan, but crap that thing rules. it's like an ecstasy had a baby with a jcm 900. but is somehow tighter AND looser than either! i about goo'd myself when you swept that mid control nob. that's what a mid control should do!

"V+" voltage is normal line voltage, right? Why would they call it 'high'? Just call it Norm (or 'n' turned sideways, for Phil.🤣). Is that pickup hum we are hearing? I hope the amp doesn't hum like that. Can you pull two power tubes from this, Dave? I like 100-watts amps if they have a good Master (and this one does), but I don't want or need to burn up two extra tubes all the time...and ever. If pulling two, what's it sound like? Questions for Dave to address when he does a talk about this amp. Kick ass, is right. Kick my ass, kick your ass, kick everyone's ass. I love kick ass amps. Kick this up against a Bogner Helios and a good Marshall, please, for starters.

I mean it sounds killer, but over $3k for just the head and it's not capable of a clean tone of any kind? Not sure I could justify that. I'll stick with the orange rockerverb mkIII. In my opinion I like most of Friedmans gain channels a bit more but it's not practical to purchase an amp that doesn't at least have a mediocre clean channel.
