Great video Vivien !!! i have the suhr riot, the zvex box of rock and the friedman be od as my main overdrives and i must admit that in my experience the be od is far superior than the riot ( even though the suhr is a great pedal in my little pedalboard ). On the contrary in this video i prefer the eclipse over the smallbox,.. Did you ever tried the box of rock ? is a great great great od, maybe one of the best for low/mid gain , anyway great playing as always !!!

Thank you very much! I have a Formula B superplexi which is about the sale as a box of rock including the boost and i played the box of rock too but i find it too mid scooped and farty in the bass with gain but it works great as a clean boost I prefer the suhr myself too

Thank you very much! Unfortunately i don t have these pedals anymore The suhr doesn t need to be stacked it has a lot of gain on tap and the friedman has enough gain for heavy metal rythm with the right guitar😉

Great playing and great tones. I think the Suhr wins out imo it cleans up nicer.

unbelievable playing. Which of these pedals would you prefer infront of a Marshall thats set to a crunchy tone for a pretty overdriven lead tone?

From what I hear, both are low-mid gain pedals, not distortion pedals, aren't they? I have a Friedman dirty Shirley and it is way too much aggressive even with gain level at mid.

The Friedman is mid gain and the Suhr is very high gain.Don t forget i play with a vintage stratocaster with low output pickups😉

@@vivienverdier I get that, but I can use a vintage Strat with the Dirty Shirley and still it gives me a violent distortion. Or a JHS AT+ (my favourite pedal).

@@vivienverdier The JHS AT+ is brilliant. A wide range of gain and above all a three position switch with different wattages to change the headroom: you want a heavy distortion at bedroom volume level? Just select the lowest wattage and you'll get it. You want the highest level of headroom? You choose the 100w position and you'll very hardly get a saturation at low volume.

Probably on the Marshall, the Friedman will sound better than the Eclipse.
