In this second video discussing Friedrich Nietzsche's early work, The Birth of Tragedy, we go deeper into the work, particularly sections 5-10, looking at how the Dionysiac and Apollonian run through the development of Greek art, music, and poetry, eventually culminating in the Tragedy of Aeschylus and Sophocles. Nietzsche examines the tragic viewpoint articulated in their plays, particularly in terms of these two responses to the problem posed by absurd existence and life.
