This video presents the bells d1-e1-g1-h1 [re3 -mi3 -sol3 -si3] of St. Magnus church in Friedrichshafen - Fischbach.
All bells were made in the 1950s.
➥ In 1951, the Bachert bell foundry in Kochendorf cast two new bells for the old parish church of St Vitus in Fischbach to go with a surviving bell from the interwar period.
These two new bells [3+4] were transferred from St. Vitus to St. Magnus for the construction of the new parish church. The places in the belfry of St. Vitus were not filled again until many years later.
Further #bells were added to the new building in St Magnus. The new instruments [1+2] were made by the Perner bell foundry in Passau in 1956.
Until a few years ago, the bells rang out from an almost open bell tower. As part of the large-scale renovation of the church, the bell tower was also significantly changed. The belfry was largely closed. At the same time, the bell system itself was overhauled and fitted with new wooden yokes, controls and clappers.
Since then, the very modern-sounding bells have resounded with significantly improved tower acoustics and the peal has completely changed its character.
