In this video I explored the historical area Kotagede in Yogyakarta. This area is specifically known for the silver that they work with and sell. When I visited on a Monday most silver workshops were closed sadly enough.
While walking around I visited a historical mosque Makam Raja-Raja Mataram. Then I started walking around a traditional village where I got invited for some traditional archery which was really cool!
After that I tried some super popular spicy meatballs from a friendly lady.
Great times in Kotagede!

"Beduk" translates to "drum" in English. It is a percussion instrument commonly used to call for prayer (Azan) and can also be used for signaling or making important announcemen. a beduk made of specifically shaped wood, with parts covered in animal skins like cow, goat, and buffalo. why is it called 'beduk' ? because when the people hit it, it will produces a sound like 'duk-duk-duk'. that is why they called it 'beduk'. Tim tense, you are feeling spiciness 🥵 and dying but you still keep vlogging 🤣 you are legend 😁😂🤗

Kota Gede Yogyakarta is the location of the tomb of the Islamic Mataram king, Panembahan Senopati. Kota Gede was built in the 15th century. Yogyakarta was the center of the Islamic Mataram kingdom and the territory around Mount Merapi was called Bhumi Mataram. The Mataram kingdom in the 7th - 10th century in Central Java was originally a Hindu and Buddhist kingdom which moved to East Java because of the eruption of Mount Merapi, then returned to Central Java with a changed faith, so you see many temple-like buildings originating from temple. Buildings without walls like the ones you see are called Javanese joglos. Borobudur and Prambanan temples are heritage from the Hindu and Buddhist Mataram kingdoms. Cultural greetings from me in a village close to the Borobudur temple in Magelang, Central Java

In Kotagede there is one big silver store called HS Silver 800-925 and nice restaurant called Omah Dhuwur you may visit both of them. Have a wonderful travelling and exploring in Kotagede. Be well and take care 😊😎✌️🇮🇩

@@timtense yupp! There’s another Kings / Royal cemetery but it’s higher up on the mountain it’s called Imogiri, if you’re lucky they usually held some sort of procession whenever you’re about to enter each king’s grave
