Back in the 80s and 90 s the women were so beautiful and natural pretty, makeup was pretty without extreme eyelashes, no extreme lips with botox, no extreme long long hair and other unatuaral extreme other bodyparts. In movies today its terrible unatural looks, hair and extreme eyelashes and lips. Sad!!!

You notice how many of them don't have white teeth either. Some of them have some pretty messed up teeth .. Shirley McClain always was one with darker teeth but really beautiful. Especially looking at them in Terms of Endearment ... but I appreciate the natural because it's real ... ❤

Good story, well played. It shows that people should stick to the ones they've chosen. Sacrificing everything for a career isn't a good choice on the long run, though very tempting. And once you've lost someone you really know how much you've lost, because you can't get it back.

He’s a jerk. It’s all about him. It’s always been about him. He was jealous of her and couldn’t take that she made his column interesting. It’s a shame children suffer from divorce but it happens because lots of times the man fails at being a good partner

If I wear mascara I look like I have false eyelashes on. Which is only appropriate to wear for photography or formal attire, if ever. It so absolutely disparages women way back to the oldest profession. No wonder some want to "go back" to this and all the violence against women we have finally risen above.

Dorothy, I agree with your comment and I've been thinking the same thing. WHEN I see such stars as Helen Mirren --and there's so many others-- with such heavy eye makeup on that you simply see the makeup and you say --okay, yeah, that's pretty well done. IT'S over done but yeah I see there's an eye because of all the makeup surrounding it; but you don't ever see the eyes! I guess they don't want u too. If a person ages and they've had a good life where they've done things of great import in the spiritual realm--like raising kids--, their eyes can look absolutely amazing, but I have to say actors operate on the non-spiritual realm, for the most part, which is the theatrical realm and so their eyes, unadorned,don't have much to say, especially actors nowadays. Helen mirren-- whom I take screenshots of and then I blow them up-- has the teeniest eyes you ever did see. SHE wasn't actually born with such teeny eyes but she has them now & they say absolutely NOTHING. She actually got an award from the Jerusalem Film Fest for her role as Golda, whom according to Norman Finkelstein was NOT a very nice woman: he calls her the American import to the zionist state which he says with a sneer. She actually is quoted in real life is saying: WE can do absolutely anything we want, as in commit slow moving genocide of an indigenous people in the 20th and 21st century . But I digress.😉 U made an excellent point. 😆

Wow ...I think that's why other marriages after never work. Step parents are one of the most damaging people to our society.. it's rare that they like the step children. Vows are vows ... they weren't ever meant to be broken.. it's gotta be for extreme reasons like horrible abuses of some kind .. even affairs can be forgiven... they happen to much not to forgive.. We are flawed humans.

It is sad to see marriages fall apart even at the movies. How difficult is to see a female partner stay behind while a man succeeds in their careers. Marriage is the most insignificant contract ever created in society. Yet our underdeveloped ideology strengthen bans, laws and regulations to damage the lives of women in a family structure. This movie is a clear example.
@lenormand4967
@lenormand4967 4 ай бұрын
The fact that you didn't mention the children is very telling of an underdeveloped idealogy. Marriage is the second most significant covenant. The covenant with God is the most important. If it is neglected, the former suffers. The children of the union are being protected by making it binding.

I had wondered what happened to Kathleen Turner but I think after reading her bio excetera I figured it out: She married at 29 to a Jewish man who I gather was relatively wealthy and they stay married 22 years so she gets his social security just in case her acting jobs had diminished such that she did not make more money than her ex. The parts in the movie where she acts really disgusting and violent was currently how she was on the set even when she was young-- before she started her meds for her rheumatoid arthritis. She was okay looking and they could make her look sexy mostly cuz she had that great voice With all due respect like most actors she had a terrible nose. IT looks like a little pig nose but they all have it. Scarlett Johansson has it; Angelina jolie; etc. THERE'S so many that had nose jobs; almost without exception they had nose jobs to get rid of the Little pig snout. In her case,when she was younger they just angled the camera and she had a lot of makeup--creating some cheekbones which she never really had. I noticed that actually her body was always straight up. S🎉he never had a curvaceous body so that her of body thickens and that's what happened to her. It goes from a narrower, longer rectangle when was younger,to a thicker square which is what she developed-- removing her ability to get roles as a siren. I guess the meds for the rheumatoid arthritis may have caused the bloating later I don't really know about that but she definitely had a lot of that and three chins. THIS type of thing. But you know what-- for a woman who was very average for that era-- meaning not Marilyn Monroe sexy but they could make her look quite sexy --and with a GREAT, LAUREN BACALL sorta voice --I would say she had a really good run for her money. SHE actually had a marriage that lasted over two decades; she created one child who looks like she looks now so chubby little because she probably didn't do super diets to try to scale her body down. My guess is Kathleen always had that type of look but she-- like a lot of women of that era as well as now-- ate nothing so that she could just be skin n bones and with a lot of help, they can become a sexy femme fatale when they're very young. SHE was in real life that there were no roles for women as they aged and she's right-- in America that does not exist, unlike Britain, but I don't think with the way she looked she would have actually gotten the roles that she would have wanted anyway as an aging female. That is to say,British ngrand dames of the theater don't have three chins. THEY just look old like Redgrave and Maggie Smith etcetera but they don't have three chins which doesn't really make it. EVEN with guys, it's a little tricky. Harrison Ford doesn't have three chins. Anyway it was an interesting movie done in 1995 and it's a movie of its era which is good to watch because women definitely have it easier now than they did then. I think it's interesting especially for young women to watch it just for that alone. I am about her age and what we see in the movie is exactly how things were for females-- not too good.
