Halling, Norway's acrobatic folk dance, has roots dating back to the 1650s, yet its resemblance to Scandinavian Bronze Age depictions of dance is uncanny. In today's tutorial, we delve into the intricacies of Myretrillkastet, a homage to the laws of nature such as gravity and centrifugal force. This move doubles as a targeted action, aiming to strike objects, and may even have historical combat applications, as seen in the pirouette's potential to disrupt opponents.

I'm a Jaw Harp player. When I learn a piece, I want to learn the dance also. But I first need strong physical trainning for these 💪 Thank you so much for the tutorial and for your videos.

I can't believe that there is a great tutorial for this really cool dance!!!! Thank you very much!!! I would be very happy if you would make some video about the types of Norwegian dances. I thought earlier that they all are just round dances. Now I'm really curious and excited about it! And I really would like to watch video(s) about Viking dances. I've read that there was a Viking version for Hallingdans as well. Is this right? And what kind of Viking dances exist beyond this? PS You are so cool. I'm sure you already knew that but I must write it.
