I pray this Chaplet, through song. The first time I discovered it and prayed it, I burst into incontrolable crying halfway through. I kept going until the end, sobbing with such horrible pain. I couldn't even get up, it was overwhelming. I could hardly talk. The next few days, I started watching videos about her life. It turns out that St. Gertrude would go into ecstacy through prayer by crying deeply. I was stunned when I found this out. I think I was touched by her presence. Now, when I start praying her Chaplet, I am well aware of what might happen and I accept it - tears and all. It's really beautiful! Thank you for including it here. Morton Jay -- the Church forbids us to attach a number of souls released from Purgatory by this or any other prayer. I was duped by the promise, but when I researched it to share with others, I found out that the PROMISE of "1,000 souls released" was suppressed by a pope in the late 1800s. The prayer does not appear in any of St. Gertrude's writings, and only first appeared in the late 1800s. It's still good to pray it, but we are not allowed to say that it's guaranteed to release souls.

@@leosun3203 I live in Argentina too, and based on what I've seen so far, most priests here in the Buenos Aires diocese are big fans of Pope Francis and his so-called reform. The priests with whom I've talked are very happy with his recent statements on hell being empty and communion being allowed for divorced and remarried couples (this is especially true for the younger priests in the city who tend to have a rather "liberal" education). As for the laity, every lay Catholic I've talked to accepts Pope Francis as the Holy Father. However, it's also true that the vast majority of Catholics in the city don't receive a good catechesis and know very little about what's going on in the Church right now (except for what the secular media tells them, of course). Still, recently, I've found there are a few young Catholics who are a bit worried about the recent internal chaos in the Church both in regards to the sex abuse scandal and the doctrinal corruption. Although they are not many, it's clear to me that these young people (mostly young men of which I am one of them) are pretty worried about where the Church is going. That said, don't take what I am saying as applying to all of Argentina. I've lived in Buenos Aires City for all of my life, which is pretty liberal as you might expect from any big city. I seldom go to other places in the country, so my knowledge of the situation here is limited. Anyways, I hope this little bit of information helps you understand a little what the situation here is like. God bless.

Ignore the vain repetitions of the rosary and it's false doctrine of praying to Mary and go straight to God with your prayers and confessions . Hebrews 4:15-16 no need of Mary when the Lord has done everything possible to make you clean enough for heaven.

Bob loblawb. It is a prayer to God. In the Rosary we ask Mary to pray for us. Sinners cannot trust their prayers will be heard. So we ask someone _God holds in high regard to carry our petition and speak on our behalf.

There is no scripture that tells you to pray to Mary and there is no scripture that supports praying to anyone other than God. Do you not read up on what the apostles taught? That was message for you. All Souls are judged by what they have done in their lives - there’s a Life Transcript- every thought, word, and actions are all recorded. We are also judged by our deeds, positive impact that we leave with people, animals, and the environment. What did we do with the life that was handed to us? Did we help people? Made this world a better place? Did we do nothing, and just indulged in pleasure. Did we make someone’s life harder? We have to answer, for we are all connected to each other here. One action of ours, can affect someone. Souls are separated: Clean and Unclean Pure and Impure Good and Bad Light Soul and Dark Soul. Pray for your late sister- she needs prayers, actual prayers from her family. Our passed loved ones can hear us when we pray for them.

What was it like?

I became one of the benefactors for the souls in purgatory ever since I had a near death experience in 2014 but I didn't come out of it unscathed but I did see St. Padre Pio then later while recovering I had St. Raphael with me while I recovered for six weeks. I have post cholecystectomy syndrome and one of the symptoms is persistent pain in my right side. It can be temporary or permanent but in my case it is permanent. Not one day have I not felt my side hurt every day. Most days it's mild to medium pain but not often does it turn really bad. I thank God that it doesn't often get real bad often but I have had that happen more than a couple of times. The following year in middle of 2015 I started doing the chaplet of St. Gertrude and St. Michael everyday. It's been six years since I had that near death experience by summer in July this year it will be seven years. But that is how many years I have been doing those chaplets. I promised the souls in purgatory that I would continue to do St. Gertrude's and St. Michael's chaplet until the day I am really gone since because of Our Lord I am still here others say I cheated death but to me God holds life and death in His hands. He decides when we go. It's really up to Him not us. His time not our time. I know God is still renovating up there and He wasn't ready for me yet but I am willing to wait until He calls for me for reals when that happens. The souls in purgatory are not mentioned all that much and they say it's hard to find those who will pray for them mainly because people don't know about them or believe that purgatory exists or they do but don't pray for them. I want my family to know about the souls in purgatory and any one of them or me could end up there. But also to know that we need to pray for the poor souls in purgatory and like Padre Pio said we need to empty purgatory because so many souls go there. The souls in purgatory are known as great protectors and you have no idea how much gratitude they have for those who pray for them since their gratitude is endless. They prostrate themselves in front of the Lord and never stop praying for those who pray for them.

I will pray for her and her mom, too. 🙏 In the Catholic tradition, a nine-day novena (prayer) is held every evening after the Holy Mass and a celebration is held on the deceased's 40th day as this is believed to be the day he/she ascends into heaven. You can start the Novena now, if it wasn't done starting immediately after her mom's passing. Look for the Rosary for the dearly departed.

Well, what's with the crosses then? I'm seeing with my own eyes, you just said salvation comes through Mary. So Jesus didn't even have to die on the cross, did he. Your salvation comes from Mary. And from eating Jesus. And from drinking his blood. Why bother dying on the cross I wonder. Salvation comes from MARY. And Jesus didn’t have to die on the cross, He wanted to in order to redeem us before the Father. Perhaps asking for the gift of understanding would help you. Some things are mysteries that we cannot fully understand in this life but we will in the next. That is faith. Peace be yours through the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Just ask for it.

Therefore, it must be generated from a human being (possibly proclaiming to be a prophet of which there are many false ones) and cannot be relied upon. Watch a Jesus move? Really? Read the writings of the early church Christians who derived their knowledge directly from Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
