I think Chris Packham argued that too many resources were going towards the conservation of pandas, at the expense of numerous other equally endangered species, simply because they're cute. Although your idea of him simply being misanthrope with a hate-boner for bears is funnier.

Ashens mentioning the frog horror film just reminds me of all those b movies about random killer things, tomatoes, whales, mice, spiders, leaves. All they would do is cut between a video of spiders and screaming people running away and they would do that with a never ending list of bizarre things.

It is bothering me way more than it should that the board's folding line isn't in the center...

As MatPat theorised when he covered the video game a few years ago - Frogger is an Aussie Rainforest TREE Frog, not a bog-standard (heh) one like around ponds and rivers.

Frogs cannot breathe underwater, they require air to breathe. Tadpoles have gills for breathing underwater but these are lost when they mature into frogs.

Frogger is a classic game. I've never played the board game version.

I figured that frogger dies when he jumps in the water because there's alligators in the water that want to eat him. that's why instead, he has to jump across their backs into the frog berths. and then sometimes a lady frog appears in one and he gets bonus points for mating with her. . .

Never thought they would make a board game version of frogger , I used to play the old table top arcade version of the game.

"Breathe underwater" Frogs don't have gills, they cannot do this. Frogs are not fully amphibious creatures, being obligate water-dwellers as infants and becoming obligate air breathers as adults.

Milton Bradley died in 1911, so you chaps'll have to go back a bit farther.

I gotta say, this is an interesting take on the Konami classic. One variation to the rules I'd make, though, is that if a player is forced to move forward into a space occupied by a car, that frog is forfeit, as per the arcade game. I might also add that you can't go in the river without a log... but those fly spaces would make the game as long as _Monopoly_, I reckon! Also. I really missed this series. Thank you for bringing it back. :3

this is quite competent if not too impressive for a boardgame, does the job even if too short.

Nutkins had a pet otter as a child, and well...things didn't go too well. Don't forget he also hosted Animal Magic with the legend that was Johnny Morris.

Another extra rule the game should have: once a frog has landed on a fly and thus "eaten" it, the log should be turned over to the non-fly state. There were a lot of flies on the river by the end of this game!

If the die falls off the table you're supposed to reroll, I thought this was a universal board game rule

The movie "Frogs" was very deceptively marketed. Despite its name and its various promotional materials, it features no killer frogs. Other than an animated frog during the end credits, various other creatures do all the killing within the film.

I never knew there was a frogger board game! Enjoyed the video as always. I was just thinking of a few games I played as a kid that could be interesting for you to visit, WWF Wrestling challenge, the lost valley of he dinosaurs and escape from colditz were pretty decent. Not really video game cross overs but pretty decent games tbh.

The reason Frogger is avoiding the water IS because the water is so fast. The idea I imagine is that he is trying to make it past to river into the wilderness where he could possibly get closer to more calm waters (such as a pond). While frogs are resilient swimmers, they tend to prefer ponds, and calmer streams than aggressive rivers. As for why he dies, ehhhh video game logic mostly but essentially it is him getting carried away and possibly smashed into logs and rocks.
