Bdubs is still to this day the only minecraft youtuber I've ever bought any merch from. When you mentioned that he took a break between Septembre 2017 and March 2018, I could feel my eyes swelling up. I remember that time as extremely tough on John and for good reasons, those who know will know why. I remember how much he'd changed when he returned with the video of him playing with his daughter. He probably needed that video more than we did.

He's not a builder, he's an artist!

anytime i see these videos on people who used to be in mindcrack, i get so nostalgic. i was on their private fan server until it closed and played with pungence and john a handful of times. good times!

The hiatus bdubs took was one of the key points of his career, for those who dont know he ended up losing his newborn daughter, and that had a huge emotional toll on him, on building with bdoubleo he built a town in her homage. He had already been kind of unmotivated with Minecraft before this, but that situation was basically the last straw with his mental health, wich made him decide to take a break on making videos and focusing more on streaming. A few months later when he decided to come back you could feel how more motivated he was, and how his building style had grown. I know you probably left that out in respect to him and his family, but that aspect of his life makes his work and energy that much more amazing, after all he went through he is this amazing person we've been watching for over a decade

I’m now 28 with 3 kids and have been watching bdubs since I was 16-17 years old. He hasn’t changed a bit and will always be my absolute favourite KZfaq creator

Man this video made me emotional! From puberty till young adulthood, Bdubs has always been my comfort zone. He's such a pure soul and that's being reflected in all of his content. Can't thank him enough for what he has done to the Minecraft community. Always learning new building techniques from some of the greatest builders around and making it into his own unqiue style. It's thanks to him I wanted to become a great builder and join servers like Mithrintia and Hypixel, which the latter I actually managed to do. And I am sure, my story, is just one of many! So if you're reading this John, I want to thank you personally for doing what you do!

Bdubs is the most innovative builder in Minecraft; he's still creating new techniques to this day with decade-old blocks. the kind of textures he makes with the most seemingly random assortment of blocks is 🤯

Bdubs is quite possibly my favorite channel site wide. His builds are inspiring, and his amazing personality can make anyone smile.

I legit got chills seeing the Mindcrack arena. That build completely left my mind but seeing a picture of it I got flooded with memories of listening to him build it while playing as well. Such great memories!

I have been following Bdubs for about 10 Years now, I actually subscribed at the time of his collabs with KYR Speedy (OG Call of Duty KZfaqr) and their work together on the Crewcraft server. It was a really unexpected collaboration looking back, but to think about how much Bdubs has influenced me throughout the years with his humor and creativity, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Going from first finding his channel at age 11 to now, 21, there’s been a lot of change and inconsistency in my life, but the one thing I could always rely on to take my mind off things was Bdouble0, as cliche as that sounds. Thank you Bdubs for raising a generation and making a positive mark on so many peoples lives.

Yeah this made me emotional. I’ve been watching bdubs since 2012 and have missed very few videos. I remember the FTB, fly boys, and mindcrack servers like it was yesterday. Only the true OGs remember the nba 2k and CoD videos. Bdubs got me through so many hard times in my life, and I will always be thankful for having my intermittent 30 minutes of not having to worry about real life while watching his vids

I'm surprised you didn't mention the "3D wall" that he designed. It looked super detailed etc from a far but it was like one layer up close.

Bdubs has always been my comfort youtuber, and his builds keep inspiring me to play MC to this day. Truly a staple of MCYT, I was so glad when he came back from his break, I don’t know how one can bounce back from something like that, but Bdubs did. I think all his fans have immense respect for him, we would have waited for 10 years, if need be. Thank you for the great video, it’s so nice to see some MC history chronicled and preserved in such a lovely way. Looking forward to watching more of your vids.

B dubs is so sooo underrated!

I discovered Bdubs back in 2012-2013, along side Etho they both inspired me to make a Minecraft channel around the same time. However with Bdubs, his comedic banter when he plays with friends or alone has introduced me to a couple of friends that I still know and talk to this day. Also because he would feature other players who gave him inspo on creative builds in his world and would feature them and their channel, I've gotten to know another person from across the world because of Bdubs (Fallaron). Super thankful to have met mindlike friends due to my connection of Bdubs. Bdubs has been a light for me in so many ways for so many years. Seeing how much he's grown as a person, his creativity and his channel has made me proud of viewer of his. I've naturally picked up his style of building whenever I play Minecraft as well. Will always support him as a long time fan.

I think you should've talked a bit more about him in the Life Series, as you only really mentioned 3rd Life. He made that series even more damn iconic than it already is. His impenetrable Crastle from 3rd Life is legendary and probably the most charming base in the entire series and that ''He loves me'' moment from Last Life still gives me chills. But yes I agree, his main highlight is in how awesome he is at building with immense detail and capturing insanely cool atmosphere.

Bdubs is amazing. Does anyone else remember a Minecraft series where bdubs and multiple other players have to loot areas and get guns? I seem to remember bdubs wining by hiding in a tree with a ghillie suite and a sniper! I had a look for it recently but couldn't find the video. Like Etho, bdubs has provided uplifting videos and I'm so happy I've been watching him for so long. I remember being so blown away as he designed the ice area of his building with bdubs season 2 world. 😊

Funny you kinda glossed over the thing everyone glosses over with BDubs. His first episodes of his LP were full of some seriously sketchy aged like milk 14yo on xbox playing CoD language including regular uses of the F and R slurs. I think it’s important to mention because of how much he grew and matured as a person to one of the most likable internet dads, a genuinely caring friend, and an incredibly creative and humble artist. Yes he’s funny but BDubs is an onion with many layers and a hell of a good life story.
