Beautiful work. I love the way the spiral legs resemble old growth trunks as being from Northern California those redwoods have a deep connection. Keep it up!

An amazing work once more. I really liked the final result and twisted legs goes very well with the circular top. I envy people like you and you just inspire me to keep my interest in woodworking alive. Once I have the place and the money, I will definitely give woodworking a shot. Keep up the high quality content, you are doing great!

That is a gorgeous table. I love the base design. I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like with a metal base of the same design. Such a cool project, though.

Thanks! Yeah I could've just had one fabricated but honestly I wanted to see if I could build it myself - plus it was much more cost effective.

Good video, enjoy your stuff. Why didn't the dust extraction seem to work on the router when cutting the circle?
@adkwoodandresin
@adkwoodandresin 20 күн бұрын
Two reasons - 1) the epoxy flakes clog up the line very quickly, and 2) its always more difficult to catch dust when edge routing. Glad you enjoyed - thanks!

Nice work, love the wood. I am curious from your desk build how the vesting finish is holding up using the Amazon light. Looking to use it on a table if I don’t have to buy the $600 light. Thanks,

It's holding up great! I did try the V3 version of the light but it takes too long to cover the whole surface. V2 is the way to go!

Dude, it's dope that you got your hands on that redwood, and it has a great story behind it. It turned out gorgeous. Oh, and I'm wicked jealous you made Death Wish's conference table. I just made a pourover of their medium roast to get myself going this morning.

That base is nice. The top is nicer. Redwood is my favorite wood. Do you think the base would look better or worse with round legs in the same pattern?

I went and watched Cams video you mentioned and my only thought is that maybe it needed to absorb more epoxy? Did it soak it up until it could not take any more? I am thinking it needed to be a little thinner and have it absorb more. You mentioned the wood took a lot of finish so that makes me think that’s what happened. Not basing it off experience but just the only thing I noticed whilst hearing you and watching your process.
@adkwoodandresin

Yeah I kept adding it until it wouldn't take anymore. I tried to follow his exact procedure but can't figure out where I went wrong. Thanks for the suggestion!

If you used xylene instead of acitone it would have worked better. Xylene is a common ingredient used in penatrating epoxies. From experience it extends the dry time by a lot and it offgasses for a while after that, but after that process it seems to also harden the epoxy more than it is rated.

Vacuum seal with penetration epoxy. Should it work on it's own? Yes. Does that mean I trust it to work on an expensive project. No.
