He wasted no time in addressing the question: "With the dawn of AI at our doorstep and in our daily routine; can we as Africans afford to miss the fourth industrial revolution?" Watch how he takes the TEDxEuston audience on a roller coaster of thought in his 6-minute punchy talk, a first at TEDxEuston.

Access to information makes people appear super human. We have to educate ourselves, our children so that such we become part of innovation and not make us see technology as aliens.

Absolutely fantastic keynote. So relevant and most importantly, accurate. How many African Mark Zuckerberg’s are there? Not that he needs to be copied, but look at his impact, and the impact of others like him. Can you imagine just 1 African with that type of global influence (with a ubiquitous product, not politics). Again fantastic presentation.

Statistically speaking, not many "African Mark Zuckerbergs" are likely to exist.

How I wish our governments take R&D seriously....Africa is blessed with bright minds but investing in that for the future is the problem. The AAI = Africa Artificial intelligence is a must thing to start if we don't want to be playing catch ups

Tariro Doma the purpose of AI is too increase business production. Why ?? Because those in the West are lazy. You honestly think Africans can't increase business productions like our ancestors use to do when they had the entire continent working as one ?? What do you think will happen when AI start to get smart and realize they can work for themselves ?? Do you know Sofia ?? You know AI mission is too eradicate humans right ???

but we will not be able to compete with AI so our industries will be out competed and also don't forget that AI can also be used for military purposes so as africans we need our own ai to be able to defend ourselve.Check out elon musk's view on AI ..we need AI democracy and also ray kurzweil on how humans can manage and reduce the risk of AI going rogue .By the way l know Sofia the humanoid robot she or it is far from archiving human like intelligents

Tariro Doma we do not need to compete with AI. AI has already surpass it creators in the knowledge they have obtain. You can't put a control on AI if you are training it to learn as much information as possible. AI has already develop their own cryptocurrency and already is in communication with other AI developing their own language which is known as gibberish. There is no need for AI in Africa. We do not need AI to defend Africa. The west develop their military with a natural resource known as Coltan. If we shut that down they will be unable to develop any weaponry. Stop trying to make Africans look like weak people. We have won many wars in the past and can do it again. You must not know how great the African continent once was. Elon Musk view on AI is horrible. He tells people it's not good for humanity but he still uses it. AI is already collecting data on humans. You see what Jeff Bozos doing with Alexa. Africa needs to develop their own UX or UI to fight against AI. AI will bring harm to humanity and that is a fact. If AI was legalize 5G would be next.
