Sam I have watched your channel for years, and I don’t know if you can connect the dots but the changes you have made in getting rid of sugar are showing up on your spending( not spending) and your planner contentment, and all the areas… sugar is an evil vice! I’m so proud of you! You are beautiful! I’m on the same path in so many ways! I discovered the same with shoes! I’ve changed my planner and journal and spending and eating habits! It feels good to do the hard things and do it well with Jesus! ❤

Sugar is definitely evil! Almost 14 months without it now, and it has definitely helped in so many areas. Thank you!

Hi Sam! I watched a video of yours a few years ago that is now private… at the time I had commented on it and was going to come back to it. I had some things to add. I remember you were struggling with accepting/processing a particular thing…. I’m not going to post here what it was about in case you are keeping it private now. But I would still love to talk to you about it. Love love love you see that you are doing keto. I’m down 25lbs using Keto and IM since January. But…. my primary goal is the increased mental clarity and focus. In addition the HUGE benefits from autophagy on both physical and mental health. I’m cleaning up my brain!! Can you tell I am excited about it? lol. So happy to see you doing Keto. I’ll have to check and see if you have updates.

Wow! Go you!! My weight has come off a bit slower. Not sure if it’s weight training or perimenopause (or both!) but I’m just glad it’s coming off.

You look amazing! I’m so happy for you! A little more than 20 years ago I did low carb and was amazed because I wasn’t hungry and I had lots of energy! It became a lifestyle vs a diet.

Thanks for sharing. I have been on on the 8/16 fast for 5 months ( every other week I break at different times to keep it fresh).and lost 13 lbs with about 16 to go to my pre COVID weight. . I have noticed that I am not craving sugar. Most sugar stuff doesn't sound good to me.

Congratulations Sam! You have done excellent! I started at 230, and I am now 159, but still trying to lose. I am also size 14 now and a large in shirt, however, I have no doubt we have completely different body types, because I am only 5" 2' on a good day. haha All of your keto tips and rules you adhere to sound exactly right to what I have also learned about keto. I love your updates. Thank you!

My biggest tip to start is pick one meal of the day (breakfast lunch or dinner) pick out one or two recipes and only make those for that specific meal of the day. Once you’ve mastered those recipes on repeat and those ratios for that meal, then you can look into the next meal say lunch and find a recipe or two but nothing more cause you’ll get overwhelmed by too many recipes/changes - personally, I started with dinners and because it was adding fats. I ended up naturally starting fast without realizing it in the mornings so now I eat my dinner 6-8pm (varies) , and now I fast until 1 PM which is when my lunch is. Also to add when you first start changing one meal type a day eat the same as you would for the other meals so non-keto but pay attention to what you’re eating and you’ll naturally start to cut back a little bit here and there the ratios without having to make new recipes Until it’s time to overhaul that meal type.

I wanted to get all the bad stuff out all at once, so I decided to overhaul it all instead of easing in. I know it was the best decision for me. I would have failed otherwise.

This is great! Congrats on your progress. Ive been keto off and on over the last 6 years. Trying to get back on track. Electrolytes are so important! So helpful with workouts too. I havent tried Dr. Bergs brand yet, but the Redmond Relyte is fantastic! Its made in Utah and sourced from the local salt mines. #teamhealthjourney 💙

I listen to YT videos of people who have done keto for years/doctors and scientists who talk about how the food industry has lied to us. I don’t look up many recipes though, I eat so simply. We just google things we think sound good. 😅

I’m curious about breaking your fast. I follow someone that emphasizes any flavor will break a fast(electrolytes, nut pods and sf syrup). What are your thoughts on this subject?
@samplans
@samplans 6 ай бұрын
There is a super strict fasting that believes that. But I’ve also read that only certain amounts push you away from the benefits of fasting otherwise. I use a measured portion of nut pods and the zero pure syrup to not push me past those limits. And as far as I can tell, same with electrolytes. I never chew when fasting for sure. I’m careful also to not just use any syrup or electrolytes, as some artificial sweeteners still cause a spike in blood sugar. I’m content with what I’m doing, I’d have leg and foot cramps if it weren’t for my electrolytes!
