Hey Sophie, I went through something similar as you and I can feel your pain. It’s really hard to hear that you didn’t grow up in a loving and safe environment that any child deserves. But you are so amazingly strong! I think you are traumatized by the braking of your family, and the little care and love you received during the whole process. The root cause of your struggles with perfectionism, nowhere feeling home are caused by this trauma. Trauma like this create a deep sense of feeling unloved, feeling unsafe and ungrounded. For me, EMDR treatment was really helpful to deal with trauma and would recommend you that. Hope you don’t mind me giving you this unsolicited advice. Brave of you that you dare to share all this and hope you will reach your goals with it.
