Love how this bathroom turned out! When I saw the QEP tile cutters you were using I got super excited because I am actually a graphic designer for QEP and got to work on the packaging. Love these videos, keep them coming!

Bathroom looks so nice. I wish grout would be blue like lines too but it is your bathroom and you do you. Really loved the pattern on tiles.

@@shoyrushoyru grout comes in many different colours. Not every company does that but it is not that uncommon.

if the grout was same color it would break up the patterns too much

@@StuffWithKirby And I think that this tile was designed to have grout the same colour to continue with the pattern. If it was my bathroom and my tile I would definitely do blue grout. But as I said before this is not my bathroom and everyone can do whatever they want. But the pattern is so cool. Haven't seen such tile before.

As an installer, I was trained to consider the longest visual wall and 'doorways' when laying out, much the same way you did your corner ;) Nicely done

When taking out linoleum (or any building material for that matter) that was from before ~1990, be sure to check that there is no asbestos in there.

I love this Bob. One thought though.....you could put a honey comb piece on the blue wall above the tiles such as a set of hexagonal shelves or a piece of art that uses the similar design as it would tie in great with the honey comb climbing up the wall. It really looks great, nice work Bob. 👍👍

Wouldn't it have been easier to paint that wall blue first? Less taping that way? This looks absolutely awesome though. That tile is neat.

Probably. I was still unsure of the paint color until I could see the tile with the grout.

Simply amazing! I love the geometric tile work. I especially enjoyed the vanity installation, and got a good laugh. On my first ever bathroom remodel I installed the vanity WITHOUT the faucet and plumbing components. 🤪 It was a bear to finish the faucet and plumbing install that way. Lesson learned. 🤦 Advanced planning is very important.

Combining the almost Tron: Legacy/Daft Punk sounding music at 7:00 with adding grout to the tile, which really cleans up the geometry and clarifies the pattern, was a *chef's kiss* perfect decision.

I'm normally not a fan of patterned tiles, but this looks great! Love the look of starting up the wall, but not going the whole way.

This video is so cool to see, because the timing is perfect to when we just finished up my sisters bathroom. Original insulators did a poor job so we tore everything out except the shower and made it butterfly themed. (after installing 3 layers of fiberglass insulation) Love the project and thanks for all that you teach! Merry Christmas and Happy new year!

Kohler faucets are great. Ive had one in the kitchen forever. It stopped working well and kohler sent me repair parts for free. Good as new now.

Love those tiles. After watching your video I am wondering why did it never occur to me that it might be easier to install all the faucet and sink stuff on the countertop before actually installing the countertop itself.

I know it would be a pain in the butt but when you run tile up the wall we always recommend you cap with schluter as well… just adds a nice little touch

Hey Bob, do you ever worry about asbestos? We just bought an older place with the hope of remodeling it over time, but we had it tested for asbestos and sure enough it came out it's everywhere, specially in old vinyl flooring like the one you tore up in this video. Just wanted to get your thoughts on that.

Asbestos is dangerous if it’s air borne. Keep the area damp and work in small sections and double bag it. Wear disposable protective clothing and a mask. If it’s a big area, hire a professional.

@@vanhakaveri Asbestos comes in different forms and are treated differently by category and quantity. Some work is doable for DIY’s. If you don’t feel safe doing it, definitely hire a professional. The same can be said about electrical work!

i think there should be tiling behind the faucet as well... thats splash zone and the drywall there will get wet eventually and be covered in soap stains from soaped up hands reaching for the handles of the faucet.

Another commentator had a great idea that I think you should expand on. Make some hexagonal shelves to "Float" above your wall tiles. Extend the design and it would be functional also.

I would like to let you know how you've helped me with this video. I study interior design and for a while i lost the pleasure for this and i didnt know if i should stop or not. I decided to wait a little bit and see if it's just a phase or not but it seemed like that feeling would not go away. I was very close to make a wrong decision. Today ,right now actually, you video popped up in my recommended videos to watch ,something that came out of nowhere since i didnt watch you before nor i watched something similar to this ever. I almost skipped the video but something pushed my finger to your video. First time watching your videos and you light up the spark for me again. Now i remember what and why i loved interior design. I want to thank you for this, I've almost made a terrible decision

@9:30 note sometimes the foam on those gaskets will be ate away by bleach based cleaners, (most toilet bowl cleaners) so carefull what you use to keep it clean

So...did you put in a utility sink in your shop for cleaning out your brushes?? If you do & its in the garage, make sure that you have water cut off valves in the house. Winter time can rupture pipes..

The water shutoff for the whole house is right above that utility sink.

Ive added shut off valves for each sink, outdoor faucets & the hotwater tank. So the next time I have to change a water tank, I don't have to shut off water to the entire house. The midwest gets cold--extremely cold in the winter (Kansas City) & its nice to shut off both outside faucets & my utility sink.

10:16 you do NOT use plumbers putty on black abs. If you need any sealant use silicone for abs.

I haven't read all of the comments and it is very likely this has already been said but, I think the tile would have looked really nice with a blue grout that matched the lines on the tile.
