From Housekeeper to CNA to LPN to RN: A Foreign Nurse's Story

Жыл бұрын❤️ Imagine moving to the United States, learning to speak a new language, and becoming a Registered Nurse at the same Hospital you once Cleaned.
Melita was born in Haiti and migrated to Florida, where she initially worked as a Housekeeper at a hospital. With 3 kids, she went earned her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also went on to earn her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and then Registered Nurse (RN).
In addition to being a loving mother and a beloved nurse, Melita is also active in her church community and has a small business. She serves as proof that You Can Do It!

I am in the same boat as Melita. I was a housekeeper, now a CNA who is in the LPN program, then I’ll be an RN. I am 100 percent Haitian born and raised.

🥺🥺I'm so proud of you....pca in training...hopefully I can follow in your footsteps...I've been told I'm too old (29 currently)...cna are basically nothing, disrespected by LPN and RN but mama didn't raise no quitter I'll make it with God's grace and mentors like you both❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

We highly recommend that students with language barriers take a free English as a Second Language course. Most community colleges and Catholic churches offer them. Also, there are numerous videos on KZfaq that teach conversational English. ❤️ We wish you much success and encourage you to keep learning and trying.
