The 35th Filmfare Awards were held in 1990 for films released in 1989. - However if you look at the nominees for Best Film, you will see one of the films was actually released in 1988 - "Salaam Bombay". When it was originally eligible, it was ignored. ONLY when the film went to the Oscars in early 1989, along with winning a National Award in the summer, then Filmfare decided to include it two-years later, jumping on the bandwagon - If we look at the winner of "Best Story" - the recipient is a REMAKE - which should make it ineligible. See, zero value. - The winner of "Best Music" included a soundtrack with PLAGIARISED music. At least FIVE songs of Maine Pyar Kiya are ripoffs of other songs. You can see the info on Wikipedia. - Rishi Kapoor admitted paying for his first award in the seventies. These are just a few examples I was able to retrieve... but you should get the picture. Today, of course there must be funny-business going on too. But there is a lot more accountability today also.

correct Xopiah...Brut India has released a video on salman and he said that apparently he was going to get an award from Filmfare but they gave the award to jackie instead. salman then bashed the management and took a hefty check for his first stage performance and he also made sure that juhi n akki also grab moneys bcz filmfare has disgraced his family
