I like how Kashtira was removed from the memory of MBT after Arise Heart was banned. He says Snake Eyes was the first very expensive deck after MD, but Kashtira was just as expensive the previous year.

I was once in a locals, and was playing a match against one of the stablished "good" players of the city, and another player was expectating us. He reached down and started reading one of my cards, then asked me a question. Their mouth had such an odor that I visibly flinched and had to ask them to give me a second to recover. I will never again go to a local without face mask.

tl;dr If Konami wants to sell more of their product, they should present more of the lore, or just cards other then Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes. As always, MegaBooTy just keep spitting facts. It is good that Master Duel made someone casual like me actually interested in the competitive scene and recognize the names of some of the top players, but I want it to be more than that. I honestly hate that I see Dark Magician an Blue-Eyes at every event. From a casual perspective, it looks like they are trying to sell a version of the game that doesn't exist. And when you think about it, a popular franchise like Pokemon actually presents their newer products better. I have never seen a YuGiOh advertisement without looking it up and I've also never played the TCG, but having watched most of the anime and playing Duel Links and Master Duel and learning that the cards have lore, I feel like Konami could skyrocket this franchise by presenting their products in a more modern sense. Like when they release a set that starts a new, multi-arc story, they can announce it with a cinematic or just some voice lines and show the cards with the tagline, "A new Story begins". Or for something like Duel Links, they could have presented it as a sort of continuation to all the anime's like people say it is (I didn't pay attention to the story when I played, so I wouldn't know). The YuGiOh Chronicles promotional video and the OCG Storied manga are a good start, but the latter doesn't have an English release. This won't fix the pricing problem, but it will make people, especially new and returning players interested in the newer cards.

Yugioh is not only complex, it is overly complicated. Being complex is a good thing for TCGs. But complicated game structures are just really bad because they present a big hurdle for beginners. If your game is complex but easy to get into and to learn, you have much better odds for new people to start and for people to innovate around those easy to get to structures. At the end of the day, Konami is just the most responsible for Yugioh being as flawed as it is and for being as alienated to itself as it now is. Simply, Konami does not care unless money flow takes a big toll.

Yugioh is a card game that should be played as 1 format rarher than 3 separate regional formats. TCG just needs to align themselves with the OCG and it will go well.

9:34 this unfortunately isnt true. Ive blocked someone before and I got paired up with them again. I only figured that when I went to the profile and saw they were already blocked. It only blocks them from adding you as a friend, but they can still pair with you on ladder. I'm trying to avoid FTK bots and the block button doesn't help with that.

Tcg rarity bumps turned me away from picking Vanquish Soul as my first paper deck. Master duel helped a bit but I hate the bug, , how anything remotely usefull in the " out turn" style of play is a UR and how you can't choose the duel music. I started duel links when they annouced Rush and started preparing/saving gems and now only play rush ranked (and suffer in everything pvp speed related)

I know a few people personally that play lots of master duel but hate paper. The game keeps track of everything for you and reminds you of whenever you can/can't do something. It's stressful to some people to have to be learning how to play somewhat, play quickly, and also don't misplay when you aren't even positive you are doing it all correctly. Honestly I don't even blame them. Farfa's series where he goes to locals, there's like a minigame in the comments where people point out all the illegal moves made, and this is against someone who wants took the judge test and has played for a decade.

I hate that the OCG and TCG have different banlists. I got into master duel 2 months ago and its really fun, but i don't really see myself getting into TCG ever. If people were playing OCG rules in North America i'd be interested in it.

Ive been playing master duel F2P since it launched. Anyone on the fence should just play master duel until you find a deck that feels right to you. The TCG takes gas money, money for food(if you frequent tournaments), transportation, sleeves, binders, money for the cards themselves. Master duel is completely F2P *if you are good at the game

Extremely hot take; the problem with yugioh pricing isn't (entirely) konami, its the scumfuck secondary market. The secondary market in yugioh was filled with scammers 10 years ago, and its only gotten worse. Rarity collection, as much as people love it, really showed how irredeemable these losers are. Rarity collection seems like the perfect product right? WRONG! The secondary market went into shock; the "old faithful staples" were cheap now, so how do they get the money they think they deserve? They jack up the prices of all new chase cards. The only reason Sneyes is so expensive is because the secondary market was scared. I mean, we know bonfire wasn't short printed. Nor were any of the AGOV ones. It also doesn't help that morons actually buy the cards at the prices.

Baronne is just the true definition of greedy TCG Konami... years of being pricey and finally become cheap for all players, it gets banned 😂 Nice marketing and keep the playerbase going... Please look over to Asian English to truly enjoy the game (in English)

i like that mbt props up the fire king SD as if anyone aside from a couple people is or even really was playing that deck pure (as in, no tri-brigade, no dogmatika) beyond a local level, but he downplays the traptrix SD as not being good when that strategy has several regional wins and even a couple of ycs tops since its release.
