About Me:
As a young child, Jonah Krochmalnek, the visionary founder of Living Earth Farm, experienced the sheer delight of a ripe homegrown tomato from his dad's garden. It was a taste of pure magic, a simple pleasure he wanted to make accessible to all.
After leaving the corporate world, Jonah volunteered at a local farm, igniting his passion for farming. In 2013, he took a leap of faith and launched a microgreens business right out of his parents' modest 150 sqft spare room. Little did he know that this humble beginning would grow into the 5000 sqft facility known today as Living Earth Farm - one of Canada's premier organic microgreen growers.
Driven by the purpose of feeding people the absolute most nutritious greens, Jonah's journey is a testament to the transformative power of growing food. Through personalized consultations and impactful coaching, Jonah is on a mission to share his wealth of knowledge, helping vertical farms across the globe thrive and making delicious, simple food accessible to communities everywhere. Join us in making the impactful positive changes to our food system with microgreens!

I’m one of Laura’s students. This popped up on my 4:30am wake up, thrash & procrastination time. I turned this on, before it was over, I had my flats filled, seeds planted& coffee in the sun. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Every farm will be different. Living Earth grew between 1000-1500 trays weekly of 10 different varieties including pea shoots, basil, cilantro, broccoli etc

Many Microgreen growers seem to transition out of growing, into consulting/educating. It must be less effort and more money. Even though Laura says she is not only in it for the money the price of her course says otherwise.

There are thousands of microgreens farms and only half a dozen or so consultants and educators active in the space. Laura is still growing microgreens and selling them, but education is an important aspect when you are industry expert. It allows the next generation of farmers to have access to valuable information at a fraction of the time and cost it would take to accumulate that knowledge

Totally agree with you. So many microgreens growers are turning to consulting. It seems like if they are earning 6 figure incomes & all the work involved in microgreens farming, one would not have time to do consulting. Therefore, consulting & developing content appears to be the way to maximize income without all the farming work.

@@ccoulter4891 I farmed microgreens for 10 years and accumulated a lot of knowledge. The best way to help the industry move forward is to share that knowledge rather than solely farming and having everyone work on their own to figure out the best model to grow. Collaborating is the way of the future. I’m not charging for 99% of the information I share. I respectfully disagree with that analysis.
