It's definitely something that I've been trying to work through for sure! And no matter what, I always seem to get caught up in my head for sure. So the way I combat this, is to try and overcompensate by planning everything meticulously.

Awesome video. Very informative and you take time to explain. Was the GoPro attached to your camera or chest? And. I tend to struggle with flash settings, did you use TTL settings? Thanks for your time

So the GoPro if I remember correctly was attached to a side handle, and then used the max lens mod accessory on my GoPro 10 to allow me to change orientation without the video getting warped. But now I have a much simpler setup! And as for the flash settings, if you're in a run-and-gun type situation I highly recommend you just slapping on TTL and keeping it moving, but if you have some time then I would definitely recommend playing with flash in manual. First adjust for the ambient lighting, then adjust the power of the flash to your subject.

Your Images are clean! How do you position and modify lights?

Thank you! When everyone is on the dance floor, I typically position 2 or 3 lights around the corners of the dance floor, and I place a flash on top of my camera. I don't modify the lights with a diffuser or anything like that, however I do position the lights to point upwards at the ceiling to help bounce light downwards. If I happen to step in front of a flash, I turn off that particular flash and simply use the flash that's on my hot shoe. So I'm always turning on-and-off the flashes as I position myself around the dance floor. Now whenever it's just my model and I, I use an only one light with a 32 inch soft box and position that 45 degrees from my model. I want to keep things as simple as possible! Hopefully that helps.
