Great demonstration! For those of us without Autoalign, I find the biggest bang for the buck is to manually align the overheads to snare top.

Great vid, by paying attention to phase, I've been able to completely avoid needing parallel compression or having to supplement with triggered skin samples.

Interesting. A useful tool. Been messing around with phasing and phase Inversion... It's a useful thing to be aware of - two inverted audio streams antiphased literally are a flat line when mixed. I've used it to kill off low end rumble (copy wave - invert copy - low pass filter).Works well, so I can see this being a valuable box of tricks to have.

I’m confused by what you’re saying. You’re inverting the phase of two identical signals, putting a low pass filter on one of them, and it does what? Wouldn’t that just result in the same thing a high pass filter would do on a normal EQ? It would allow the high end to pass and then perfectly phase cancel the low end according to the slope of the LPF, right? You’re basically doing backwards and opposite EQ? I feel like I’m missing something here.

You can calculate the times it takes to arrive in the microphone by measuring the distance between the 2 sources. So you can add the right amount of delay in a live environment.
