I was the lead modeler on pixelmon back in the day I quit because it's ran by assholes lol that alone makes cobblemon better

I used to play pixelmon hardcore until I found cobblemon, I made the switch purely out of the feeling of Minecraft. Cobblemon allows me to play Minecraft with pokemon that feel like they were always there. It’s the same way with fossils and archaeology compared to other dinosaur mods.

They have every Pokémon programmed already, but not implemented. The ones that aren't implemented use a placeholder model until they get their own models and animations.

I really think what made me ditch pixelmon was that fiasco where they had snuck in malicious code to shut down servers they didn’t like that just left such a stain on it for me

I come to Minecraft pokemon because there’s more to do than the original games and even fan games. Personally in this situation more is better so Pixelmon it is. But that does not mean cobblemon will not be AWESOME or even better than pixelmon. (In the future.) Good news is cobblemon does not show any signs of stopping. And every step they’ve taken seems to be nothing but improvements to the mod. And they’re not shy about it u can go see everything they’re working on their page. Anyways not enough native content for me to leave pixelmon over just yet. But so far it’s undeniable that most people eventually will move on to the future being cobblemon. Thanks for the vid!

My main problem with cobblemon for right now. The pokedex isn't a completionary thing but a list of pokemon in the mod. The missing pokemon. The missing gameplay features like raids and other things, trainers, and other things. I feel like it relies a little too much on side mods which can be messy to update both side by side. The things I like about cobblemon are the minecraft like look the flying mechanics. the general feel of it [not an official cobblemon feature but I like the mod that makes legendaries obtainable through quests rather than a timer like pixelmon] the fact you can fight mobs with your pokemon which is sort of like pokecube. My first impressions of cobblemon was pokecube meets pixelmon but more stable . I hope gameplay features catch up with cobblemon and pokecube so I can truly make the switch.

This is acc cool as hell man, u should make separate videos on a starter guide and how u recommend playing the game, what version, what mods, etc etc etc...

Something I live and die by is that IMO, Pixelmon was overdone. I've been playing Cobblemon for a while now, and decided to go back to Pixelmon to see how it's coming along, and it was an immediate overload of the senses. I could barely think due to the sheer number of things going on, including a flashy notification that there's an item on the ground??? I don't think I'll ever go back to Pixelmon, just because Cobblemon plays more into the Minecraft experience, instead of trying to make a whole new game like Pixelmon

Was not expecting to hear ff14 music in a minecraft video. I used to really like pixelmon but I feel like its trying to be a separate game more then a minecraft mod, and thats fine. Cobblemon very much feels like a side experience to the core minecraft experience. You still gotta do all the usual minecraft things to progress. Also the blocky models just somehow have way more personality then smooth realistic ones. Considering how cobblemon has existed for a fraction of the time pixelmon has, I think it was a lot of potential

Pixelmon was great back before they started replacing all the blocky models with high polygon ones. It just stopped feeling like it fit into minecraft. And it's been that way for most of its life now. Cobblemon is fantastic for that reason alone, AND they have so much more lively animations

Was already pretty relaxed but Neath Dark Waters from 14 jumpscared me, back into relaxing. Good taste :)

ceruledge sounds like he sharpens his blades, i hope when they animate him it will be like that

I love both mods, and am looking forward to the addon mod know as Generations core, which will add HD models to the pokemon, the potential of what is possible is only getting bigger, cant wait to see what else is done with all three of these mods

To be honest, the only things I'm actually missing are some kind of gyms and trainers. As a singleplayer, I need something to do.

Who else did you voice in pixelmon, I honestly didn't know that people actually voiced them. I always thought as a kid that the pokemon were voice where taken from audio in the show, this is a surrealing feeling

just saw this and i been trying to play cobblemon but i have a bad laptop but either way this one works alot better and i like it better cuz its is harder cuz of the mobs and stuff idk if theres any servers out there but this mod is cool

I switched to Cobblemon because of the models. Pixelmon models suck. I recall that in past they fit minecraft well. I don't know when but they change it to look... bad. Not suit for Minecraft at all. Cobblemon is just much more fun. For now I wait for the possibility of Gym Leaders, evil teams or AT LEAST events/mission. I really liked that part of pixelmon and I hope we will get that in Cobblemon.

I still like both. but id say i perfer cobblemon cus of it being easier to run and doesnt get rid of vanila mobs (Ik theres a way to get them back but lately its very difficult for me)

Pixelmon does doe models 6 million times better but i am a polygonal mess fan

I know cobblemon will surpass pixelmon soon, for now I'll stay on pixelmon until we can catch all pokemon (legendaries included)

Reasons i havent played this: - not enough pokemon - healing is limited - no trainers or spawners or anything to make your own map Pixelmon has their issues but at least the game is complete. And at least i can FKING HEAL
