Snubby J liked The Blue Man Group so much that he built his own RimbaTubes with his dad to produce his own music. His biggest goal was to become a Blue Man but he learned much more about himself and his ability in the process.
KENT JENKINS (SNUBBY J) is a multi-talented performer known on KZfaq for his music videos featuring his homemade RimbaTubes, a PVC pipe instrument inspired by the Blue Man Group. His videos are followed by over 250,000 subscribers and have been viewed over 40 million times worldwide. Kent has appeared in commercials and on television including “America’s Got Talent” (2010), “The Cover” (France, 2014) and "Das Supertalent" (Germany, 2015). Apart from KZfaq, Kent works as a physical theatre actor, musician and street performer in Los Angeles.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Eduardo Yukio jehu we work two jobs and between bills and car payments still hardly have enough money to get groceries. college diplomas are basically worthless now. so what else is my generation supposed to do? half of my friends joined the military for free college because their parents (your generation) dont have the money to send them to school so they did something about it.
@JehuMcSpooran
@JehuMcSpooran 7 жыл бұрын
Travis Costa Gen X and the Baby Boomers had exactly the same problem. Sure housing might have been cheaper but you try paying of a Mortgage when the interest rates were around 18%. Gen Y and the Millennials have been sold this idea that you need a University degree to get a decent job. Schools hardly even mention going to a technical collage for a certificate or getting an apprenticeship and being a tradesman. Tradies will quite often pull in over $100k a year here in Australia. Why? Because they had a go and didn't believe they were entitled to something because their parents, teachers and a piece of paper said so. Unfortunately, My Generation, Gen Y and The Millennials haven't worked this out yet or are only just starting to find out everyone before has suffered the same as them but in just slightly different ways. You will get your break one day. It just probably won't happen as quick or in the manner you want it too.

even technical schools dont matter nowadays. ive gota bachelors in electrical engineering and am still struggling. everyone wants experienced workers but wont give them the chance to gain the experience. im 20 with a bachelors and i work retail and side contracting and still can hardly have money lect after bills. people back in the day made 2- 6 dollars an hour but $6 in the 70s and 80s had the spending power if $18 nowadays. were not lazy and ungrateful. we got stuck with the result of generations before us ruining the economy and now we are ridiculed for their mistakes essentially. im not mad about it but it does suck
@JehuMcSpooran
@JehuMcSpooran 7 жыл бұрын
A Bachelors in EE is a University degree here in Australia. Our technical collages (TAFE) only go up to Advanced Diploma but they have now been defunded by the government and are getting expensive unless you are on welfare and can get one free course per year. Back in the late 60ies my father (baby boomer) at one stage was working 5 jobs. His main one was as a shoe maker and only earned $20 a week but he did anything from bar staff, laboring, repairing speaker boxes and playing in a rock band at local pubs and clubs. It wasn't until he retrained via TAFE and started working for himself from home that we have been able to live comfortably. We don't have what most people or society thinks we need but we are happy. Has the other generations spoiled it for us? Not at all. We've grit our teeth through the bad times and taken advantage of the good times and been happy with what we've got. Don't worry, the next generation will whinge that you have spoiled the economy for them.

Basically a bunch of straight men with the cool mixed in. Your cool with passion mixed in. I’m sorry, They were correct to turn you down. They apparently sucked because they didn’t tell you why in a way you could understand. Your destiny is beyond them. Next step in engineering, a tube organ with key and foot pedal auto strike system. Call it a concussion pipe organ

LOL ITS JUST LIKE ME!!! I was 8 and I wanted to be a piano player with my grandma's piano. By 10 I started to learn how to break dance. By 12 (now) I spent a lot of money on a camera and adobe after effects. Who knows what will be next year though

Kent, as a business entrepreneur for 22 years, who faced a lot of naysaying and discouraging comments for many years, and I committed and I worked night and day, and I never gave up on the vision to help others and to find my own path up, I can tell you some little piece of advice... I know you think that you want to be a "blue man" but seriously you have way more to offer the world as you than a run of the mill blue guy that no one knows personally. You can be you and allow your natural flare and talent shine and you have more artistic flexibility working independently. Focus... Who are YOU? Not who do others want you to be? How can you be a trail blazer? How can you raise the bar and set a new standard of goodness, brightness, and unique inspiration. Be all that YOU are meant to be and be careful to choose wise and righteous mentors that won't lead you astray or cause you to chase things that are temporary or that don't matter and won't stand the test of time. Be real, be you, and be good! :D
