Former East Suffolk police officer John Chapman has come across the greatest detective story of his life - his family history!
How did a family living in the Rows of Great Yarmouth end up in one of the most wealthy areas of London? Where did the money come from and, more importantly, where did it all go?

funny i'm currently researching the Luson family who lived in the large corner house of Luson Row, it was the biggest house on the quay on the map, fascinating family history connected to Cromwell

This story was fantastic. My mother who was born in Great Yarmouth is now eighty years old. I have been trying to research her history. She has no living relatives. I would very much like to talk to Mr. 'Chapman to see how he went about his research.

I found this story fascinating! I've visited Yarmouth many times since I was a child, over the years and have always been interested in it's history. Does anyone know the name of the hotel that used to be 'the big house by the racecourse'?
